Happy New Year to you all. I'm having problems downloading a patch for TS2010. This is what happens: Trainz patch installer starts....Searching for patch file.....Downloading patch file.....Unpacking patch file.....Failed to extract patch archive.....Patching aborted. If anyone has any ideas, tips or hints I'd be gratefull for your help

Try the manual downloads, all patches and links are listed in the Announcements forum. Servers were playing up yesterday so you may have been caught out with that.
If Win7 HP you need to install run and patch as Administrator, Running an admin account is insufficient due to MS restrictions on it in Win7 HP.

Have you checked whether they are simply hidden?
On the Routes page, check at the top for a gold star. If it's present, click it to turn it off.

I've noticed you haven't registered your serial number. This is required to create content in Trainz.
Also if you are running Windows Vista or 7 (Home Premium) you must run Trainz as administrator.

Is that with the favourites feature disabled?
If it is, try doing a database repair in Content Manager.

Hello,
Downloading the patches by hands did fix the problem, the DVD installs an old build, now TZ2010 works - I am learning how the whole thing works.
Quick question - (I may need to read the manual). I sometime have a hard time "grabbing" one of the lever with the mouse - specially the reverse/forward one in the 4th tutorial, is there any tricks to do that ?

For the reverser, you should find that F is forward, N is neutral (I think) and R is reverse.

There is one or more further patches you can install, but you need to decide whether you want the Multiplayer Beta or not. Be aware that installing the Multiplayer Beta will prevent you from using compatibility mode.
