prism like forms

I've been doing this layout using it to examine the assets I've downloaded from Trainz. So it's gotten rather full with vegetation, buildings and other objects, locos, etc., etc. Lately in surveyor there have been shooting all around these light blue prism-like forms that appear intermittently on the layout blocking it from view until I move the view somewhere else where they may or may not appear again. Is this a function of having too much stuff in the layout or rather a product of my oldish video card, a Radeon 9550 8XAGP (128).
I'm running WindowsXP SP2. Any way to get rid of these? Will deleting some objects work?

All I can say is "maybe, maybe and , maybe". It can't hurt to remove some items, can it?
Alternatively, is any of that content faulty?

I guess not many people get this effect, more like being inside a prism, turning out to be a prison. I tried removing 3/4 of the buildings and a bunch of the trees. Still no luck. Maybe once a layout is corrupted it can't go back to normalcy.

I had this occur to me once when I started playing around with the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel. As soon as it started happening I reverted back to the default settings.

My card is a 9600GSO PCIe.

sounds like texture corruption- an asset you added isnt playing nicely. being agp and 128mb i could also assume its just overloaded and running out of places to store vertex information

I wish there were a texture eraser in 2009. Has anyone gotten erazor to work in 09? I'd like to upgrade my video card but to go to a new pci I'd have to change the mb, hds, ps, ram, etc. Not ready yet$$. They still make agp cards but that's a dead end.

Have you overclocked your video card? This is a sign that the video card's RAM or GPU might be failing.

If you have overclocked, step the speed back to it's defaults.

You might want to check the heat too in your system. Clean your fans, and in particular the one on your video card if there is one. If anything, clean the heatsink of any dust. I had this problem awhile a go with my trusty old 8800GTS, and after a through system cleaning, everything was back to normal.

One possibility is that you're running out of video memory. As an experiment try operating Trainz at a lower resolution.
