Pre-Ordering Trainz 2009

After a disastrous day downloading the beta version 'Various Reasons' I now have another problem.

When I try to run 09 it ask me for my CD Key.
I have searched every location I can think of, but can't find any reference to it.

OK, it's been a long day and night, 0530 UK Time and I'm tired, so I might have missed it somewhere. , see I can still smile even at this hour .

Any help, anyone, greatly appreciated.

If you have preordered tr2009 you should have been sent an e-mail with the code. Don't forget that "BETA" is part of the code! John.

Hi John,

I entered to complete code into my Auran Profile with no problem, however when I tried to enter it into the input box CD KEY, (Not Shouting) it would only accept a certain amount of characters, The complete code was too long. I tried it without the dashes - , still wouldn't accept it.
I was going to try it without the "Beta" until I read your post.

OK: Its a new day and I'm feeling fresher, so back to the drawing board. I'll probably get it running the day before it expires :hehe: .

I have just pre-ordered, and I only hope that I have done the right thing. I was disappointed with Trainz 2006, but still have enough faith in Trainz and Auran to try the latest version.

Will it be "goodbye" to 2004? Time will tell.

Changed my mind.

Well folks. I have to retract my earlier statement.
I had said that based on my TC3 experience I would not pre order TRS2009.
However, after running the '09 beta 1 and seeing the bug fix list plus feed back from beta 2 testers, I have changed my mind. This is going to be an excellent Sim and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I am hitting the pre order button as we speak.

I too have just pre-ordered TRS2009. Not having experienced anything since the poor TRS2006 I will be enthralled to see just what the differrences between the two are.
Also not having posted or visited here for a long time Its very interesting to see this forums developement

Hi Neil,

Welcome back.

I'm impressed by 09, and so far its taken everything I've thrown at it. I have deliberately done things that have been known to crash 04 / 06, and it still keeps chugging on.

Not sure about your raildriver question though.

Yes, I will preorder. To tell the truth, I just did!! Each new version of Trainz has been better and I will continue to be an avid user of this fantastic product. When can I preorder Trainz X?

Can someone please explain the following line (bold text) from my e-mail confirmation :-

" Time Limit
Beta 1 is enabled until the end of November. By that time we expect the Gold Master version will be complete and you can then purchase a new serial number and download the full retail version. "

Some users were invited to join the Beta without ordering first, I suspect this is aimed more for those users. If you have paid for a pre-order and received the beta serial number you will get a new one when the Direct Download version is available.

I also preordered yesterday. My confirmation said to not download until I rec'd a key to install it. It further stated that I probably would not get a key because by the time the key arrived (being sent by ship??), the actual production Gold version would be available, and I would need another download and another key anyway. At least that's what I got out of this anyway.

I'm pretty easy to get along with, especially when I only spend $29.00 for something. I can 'use' that away on a tankful of gas - no biggie, just curious.

BUT - why send me a registration number to download the rascal if I'm being told NOT to download it and install it??

What am I missing here? I haven't had my 2nd cup of coffee yet. Maybe after I do, I'll see the sense here, but in the meantime, if anyone would like to take a crack at explaining why I shouldn't download, I'd be happy to listen.

Can I install and mess around with the beta version if I download it? Can I install it without the key?

TS2009WBE Gold Version is getting ready for release, once released you will be sent a download link and a serial no.

The boxed version won't be shipped until mid December, so you will have TS2009WBE before the boxed version is shipped.
