Auran experienced some delays with orders during the changeover to a new fulfillment provider. A whole set of 100 or so orders seemed to disappear into the ether. Obviously it took time for us to realize that none of those orders were shipped so the reports of delays lasted quite some time. All is back in order now.

Also, Europe and North America orders will be shipped locally not from Australia.

The multi-language version will be in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Polish and Russian. It is the same installer for everyone and you choose your language under Options on the launcher.

Some answers to recent questions:
  • December delivery for DVD - fairly certain. (Note that even on a slow connection it will only take a day or so to download).
  • Czech delivery costs = E6.95
  • French language - initial release is English only.
  • Multi-language version will be available in January 2009.
  • Remilliard - we are fixing the problems of the previous versions. This is called software development. Each new version (in theory) is better than the last. The revenues from each version help fund development of the next and better version. By withholding your nickels you are ensuring less thiings are fixed for the next version.
  • When TEE is released it will install on top of WBE to make one install. Otherwise it will run as a standalone program. So it is both an expansion pack and a standalone.
  • This means that all the features in WBE flow through to TEE (except of course for the Surveyor features which are not included if you have TEE only). If you have WBE and TEE you have both feature sets.

I can not believe you actually say this Tonny. I have bought TC3 last July and that is only four months ago and now you expect me and numerous others to pay again for the features that should already have worked four months ago? That is not developement, that is robbery. I don't give a hoot about the next version. I want a decent version for which I already paid hard earned money. EDIT ... lets take your words a step further. Purchasing TS2009 will mean, by your own words, a shabby program only released to collect money for the next one. Hmmm. Great incentive and advertisement for TS2009.

Snipped.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the info, the latter two is what I was asking about and I think its a terrific idea. Quite a few software companies have taken this road.

One more question: In the event of a corrupt or interrupted download, are steps in place where the end user can re-download without too much hassle?
Cheers
Pete

Thank you, Tony.
This is among the things I wanted to know, which I was most interested in.

I guess it's preorder time for me soon. :)

I didn't want to speak it out loud, but if you read the forums, you would have known that the TC versions were only minor enhancements and mostly were considered map packs with only a very very few enhancements.
Nobody is forcing you to buy anything or is expecting you to do so, like me for example, I haven't bought a single TC version as it's features just didn't cut it for me.
Just wait until something comes out that satisfies your needs or until a point in time where you don't know what to do with your money and then decide if you are going to buy something (after reading some reviews, etc.), but don't blame others for you wanting to buy everything that comes out.

Hope dies last and currently my hope is that TRS2009 will turn out to be the best Trainz version ever, but only time will tell.

Mr.Jingles

You shouldn't assume I haven't read the forums. It is insulting.

My issue is that features that worked correctly in both TRS2006 and TC1 were removed from TC3 and that was not reported before I bought it. In other words it was not an improvement but the downgrade ... is that software developement Auran style Tonny?

Which features?

Mike.

I am currently waiting until there is more information such as the minimum system requirements to run TRS 2009 (i.e. do I need a bigger, better, and faster PC to run it) and that sort of stuff.

Saving keywords is one, you find the rest yourself.

Saving keywords is broken in TC 1&2 as well, actually. Nobody complained about it for over a year which is why it wasn't fixed in TC3 as nobody working on that was aware of it.

What are the other features you think are not working in TC3 that are working in previous versions?

Don't tell me to find them myself, I'm interested to know what you think they are. (Especially as you were wrong about the saving keywords issue).

In my version of TC1+2 it did work correctly. Perhaps for once you should actually buy a version instead of being pampered by Tonny and his cronies with free pre-release versions. Furthermore when you manage to run locomotives build previously to TC3 without problems and or extensive error fixing I will get back at you. Until then I have no interest in furfilling your needs and or wants, I am not into those things.

My system is about 4 yrs out of date, Nvidvia (spelling) do not even have updated drivers for me :hehe: and 2009 seems to work reasonably well. I am sure if I updated my computer it would run better but at the moment I am out of money :hehe: .

Apart from that 2009 looks great :)

I pre-ordered yesterday and downloaded the Beta. I had no problems with it and proceeded to import my content from 2006, which has taken all night and then some.

Hopefully I can try the program tonight when I get home from work.

Wait a Year or more

I never was the 1st one on the block.

I'm not ready to let go of 2004 but I wish the turntables were AI ready as they should have been in the first place!

Confused

Hi All,

Just purchased boxed version of 09.

Can someone please explain the following line (bold text) from my e-mail confirmation :-

" Time Limit
Beta 1 is enabled until the end of November. By that time we expect the Gold Master version will be complete and you can then purchase a new serial number and download the full retail version. "

Cheers
Pete.

By December the first final version should be out. They will ship you a copy as soon as they can. When it is out, you will be able to download that first final version so you don't need to wait for snail mail. Of coarse you can wait if you want. If you download the "Beta", in will only last until the end of november when it will turn into a pumpkin. ;)

I am not sure about the "purchase a new serial number" part.
