I'll be wiating till more information comes in. Plus it doesn't really matter anyway, cause I'm getting a new computer to handle it sometime in December.

I have preordered every version including the first so why not? Eventually they just get better so I want to be in on the early complaining. Listening, that is.

My good old machine (see below) has managed at least OK with all versions I have of Trainz so far, at least with the built in layouts. Actually it has worked a bit better with each new version so far.

I suspect that it will not be the case with TRS-2009. If nothing else, the smaller grids could be a problem.

I will wait and see, unless Santa brings me a new machine.:udrool:

I will definitely pre-order. I've been with Trainz through thick & thin for nearly eight years now and, overall, am quite happy with Trainz and the people behind it.

Extra cash up-front will probably help the team to finish it sooner rather than later.

Barney

Wasnt 'rushing the product out the door' the real problem in the first place ? Are publishers deadlines YET AGAIN! going to ruin our trainz experience ?

I Guess we'll see..

Nice to see your name again Barney :) hope your well. :)

Don't see how anyone can make a rational decision without knowing exactly what they will be getting.

Although, being altruistic and just wanting to help Auran's bottom line is a reason too, I suppose.

Me, I'll wait to see what will actually be in the final product before deciding.

Pre-order: It helps Auran. I will install in a separate HDD. Will report how and what it does, the good and the bad. And after all this, I will try to import my World into it and continue the enjoyment. Again, all this will help Auran and all of you.... Is there any discount for pre-orders?.... :p

I will not be pre-ordering considering how long it took for me to get my Content Creation Art Source order. I haven't bought TC3 because I can't find a store around here that has it and I'm not up for waiting 3 months for my purchase to arrive.
Also, until I know that my machine can handle 09, I won't be purchasing (even if I can find it on the shelves anywhere).

I might not preorder and I might wait until TRS09 is running as it is supposed to be. This forum will let me know if this is so.

I have been bitten before with TRS06, the tincan edition, where it took ages for a service pack to be made. TRS 06 is still having issues on 3 of my PCs.

Besides, I still haven't received my order of TC3, despite ordering and PAYING for it on the 12th of July. HelpDesk assured me several times that this has been posted, the last I heard of HelpDesk is they will send me another copy of TC3 but that was almost 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting and waiting and waiting. If this is the way AURAN does business, I fear for the next release of TRS. Well Mr. Hilliam, would you care to reply please?

I DO live in AUSTRALIA, not in the Arctic Circle or the Antarctic or somewhere in the Brazillian rainforest or even the Sahara Desert where a postal delivery might be several times a year only. So, how about it Mr. Hilliam, my patience is wearing very thin :(

For your information, I bought the Trainz edition, several versions of TRS 04, 2 versions of TRS06, the Trainz Collection Edition as well and several route disks from AURAN as I thought my little contribution might help them to make a better TRS. I am slowly getting the impression that NO ONE from AURAN gives a damn about some of us buyers.

I like to be convinced that AURAN does care, Mr Hilliam, the ball is in your court as HelpDesk seems to tell furfies!

Not so cheery

yeah !

there was some indication a few months back that Auran had taken on a new 'fulfilment provider' to handle dispatch of orders. The problems with delayed goods seems to have coinsided with this change. Whilst this has mainly effected orders of TC3 I'm sure that other Auran products have also been caught in this mess.

Tony, this really needs to be rectified now before the launch of TS09 otherwise it will most certainly be a case of 'one step fwd and two steps back' regarding direct purchases from Auran, which as we all know is the best way to support Auran due to the higher profits they take from each sale.

Steve.

I've pre-ordered TRS2006, TC1/2 & TC3 but my experience with TC3 was very disappointing. The lack of complete installation instructions for TC2 owners caused me some serious problems. There was no excuse for that.

It's working now but the frame rates on the built in stuff are lousy.

This time I'm going to wait for the general population's response before I decide if I will order TRS 2009.

Also, I hate to give up modeling in Gmax, I've just got the hang of it.

Cheers

Just because I got you to do something in GMAX that I couldn't do.... The OAA wagons really appreciate their animated sides by the way.

Where is your sense of adventure, think about the sense of achievement after finally getting something to install out of the box after a week of frustration.

I can relate.

Let's hope this is not rushed out the door like 06 was. You have really tarnished your reputation with the latest few releases. Please take your time on this one, no more lies please.

Yes, you're right John. I really enjoyed doing those animated OAA wagon doors in Gmax. And thanks for the help in getting TC3 up and running.

But just so there is no misunderstanding, I'm a huge Trainz fan, and I'm sure I will buy TRS 2009 eventually.
Just not in the first rush. Once bitten, twice shy.
Cheers

I´m very interested in TRS2009! And I think, I will pe-order ist as well. But I am also VERY interested in further information. What of the build-in-content of TRS2004 or TRS2006 will be available there? All the build-in-cabs, sounds, invisible bogeys, engine-files and so on that make many of the locos and rolling stock work correctly.
What advantages or changes will be made for content-creators...

Michael

Like all Trainzers, I'm interested, but at the moment thats all. Pre ordering is not an option as far as I am concerned, as there is far too little information available to compel me to buy, let alone pre order.

Maybe, rather than rushing this product out the door in time for Christmas, you could release a short demo for download. That way you could have a "public beta" in order to fine tune the program before a release early next year. Then again, that might not be a good idea commercially.

At the moment there are too many unknowns. XP/Vista/Windows7-DX9/10-32/64bit-CMP1/CMP2-backwards compatible.

I'll probably wait for the reactions in the forums, as I'm sure people will post loud and long on their opinions.

Back to you Tony.

Cheers

I'll order (or pre-order) as soon as I hear that diamond crossings have been implemented as standard. I can't bear the thought of trying to create a realistic route without them (again...)
