At least if this thing was going to happen, it happened before you went on holiday. There's nothing like getting a call from the office during time off.
During a cross country trip, I got a call from the GM. The CRM database server crashed and wouldn't boot. Being an old Proliant 4000 with clamshell hard disk trays, I had a hunch what the issue was and instructed the GM to pull out the unbootable drive and reseat it, and to be careful of the inevitable blood blister that always occurred when the drive enclosure reclipped itself to the chassis. With me on the phone, I heard OUCH! and then it works!
