Post Message Command

I find the syntax of the "Post Message " and Wait for Message" commands rather confusing, and would be grateful if someone would clarify it.
Does "Alastair completed task 0" mean the message is meant for Alastair, or that Alastair sent the message?
And is it necessary to use a different task number for each individual task?
And, not so important, why aren't we allowed to send messages to Adair?
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

The names are from the original set of drivers. They dont link to those drivers only so can be used anyway you wish, as long as the post message and wait for message use the same tags. Ive cloned the post message and changed the names to that of the stations on my route and also added extra numbers and names. If you post a message and use the wait for message then the message will remain in memory and any other train waiting for that message will see it and carry on, even if you dont want it to. wait for message and clear will remove the message once a train has read it, this means the next train cant see the message until someone else posts it.

Thanks for the reply. I understand it better now.
I'll make a little test route to see how it all works.
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Thanks for that hint also. I too made a clone, and with my minimal knowledge of scripting, made my own version with just letters and numbers for the messages, which worked fine. But how can I change the title of the command as it appears in the command list, to differentiate it from the original?
Thanks,
Mick Berg.
EDIT- To answer my own question, I'll just disable the original command and then it won't show up....Duh......
