PORT OF TILLAMOOK BAY RR

hi all :)

im madtrainz14 from the uk . so makeing a us route will be a lot of fun

my pc spec is a xpc sff shuttle
1.8 ghz
250mb g.card
1.5 of ram
200gb hd drive

the route is a dem map made by dermmy (so all credit go's to dermmy for all the hard work in makeing the dem map)

in dermmy,s words on the route
PORT OF TILLAMOOK BAY RR This route has just about every scenically spectacular element possible
from the Port of Tillamook the line heads northwards along a cliff-hugging coastline firstly of the bay,
then the Pacific Ocean before cutting inland and threading a series of deep valleys and gorges.
The line has numerous water crossings and the terrain forces the line to loop back on itself time and time again
I could go on and on. A fair sized route at just over 46Mb in the raw terrain,
but a lot of boards will be out of line-of-site through the mountains and can get pruned as the route is built.
I love this one and just might have a go myself...

to me its a WOW route and just some fun.

a big thank you go,s to

dermmy for the dem map

here's some shots of the route

I believe that the engine is a GP9.

You got a lot farther than I did. I started working on this route awhile back and got a little frustrated so I backed off and forgot about it. I just might take another look at what I did. Maybe I can be of some help to you. My computer is in the shop but will have it back in about a week. I will follow this thread and after taking a look at what I did I will let you know and go from there. Nice job so far. I know how big this route will be so take your time and do it right. I think the tracks along the coastline will be the most difficult because of the houses and roads. Good luck.

hi all :)

PS the Port of Tillamook Bay is SD9 heaven. some of them even have chop noses. I'd use Ben Neal's undec SD9 for the high-nose ones, as you can customize it with add-on parts. The chop nose "SD16" (which i suspect is a nod to the GP16 rebuilds made by...Seaboard? but i digress) would do for the low-nose units, though i don't think they are an exact match for the one's on the POTB.

oh well, enough nitpicking (there's already a firefight somewhere else on the forums over that). the route looks great, my man, keep it up. I look forward to this one!

A google image search for 'POTB 101' turns up quite a few photos - if there's anything in specific you're looking for, let me know!
