Points release distance

Greetings all!

I'm having trouble with running around. Here I've set up a terminus with a central run around loop, however the AI doesn't have enough space to play with. I've tried minimising the trigger radius of my track points, adding invisible track beyond the track end, but the loco still won't release the point. Is there a way I can get around this?

I've posted in a separate thread about this exact problem.

I'm not sure if this works in TRS2009 as I don't have it, it didn't work in TRS2004 but it does work in TS12 so it's worth trying.

Use the trackmark trigger radius setting and change the switch sensitivity from the default 150 feet setting to as little as you need it to be. I'm now able to use very short headshunts.

If that doesn't work in your version, plan B is to extend the headshunt with invisible track, that's an old workaround and has never been ideal in my opinion.

I set my radius down to 1 foot. This allows me to shunt cars all over my freight cars and run around trains without too much problem. The close radius also helps fix that quick junction direction mistake too! With the 150 foot radius before, catching that junction lever problem was impossible.

The only thing this doesn't resolve is AI drivers going 3 miles away to swap tracks when all they need to do is pass the junction.

Out of interest do you know if that works in other versions, I know it doesn't in TRS2004 but does in TS12. I've never tried it in TRS2010.

Evening all,

Many thanks for replies. I had the system working perfectly earlier using invisible track, but now somehow now I've blown it!
