Please how do I install a Digital Download (Blue Comet) into TS12?

Hi all, well I just bought the Blue Comet addon, saved it to a file on my desktop. What are the steps in installing it into TS12?
This is the first time that I bought a Digital Download item. And how do you open the 'Installer File? Thanks -Robert-

Good Morning Steamrodder
Once you have downloaded the installer, which will be a '.exe' file, simply double click on the file to run the installer. When asked for your serial number, please insert the serial number for the Blue Comet, which will have been included with your order.

I Just had My Doomsday! all .exe files Highjacked on My Computer!!

Well I think that this will be the first AND last time that I'll buy a Digital Download, the blue comet addon I bought, I think is suposed to be a '.exe' file. O.K. so how come that it's a MIME file? Now I can't even open any of my programs, I mean ANY programs. So therefore I'm doing a compleat windows repair. I don't know how long it's going to take, or how much stuff i,m going to lose. so I hope that at least I can still save my Digital Download I bought. At least there IS some good news in this... I bought a FCT!!!! I don't know what the heck i did but my Trainz computer, is really screwed up I hope I'm doing this repair right, any input will be most grateful. On how I,m doing this repair... Using my XP disc I,m doing a repair install, instead of pressing 'enter' I pressed 'R' for repair. Yah I still like Trainz. but sometimes it's a pain in the butt!!!! So let me know if I'm doing this right. -Robert--:wave:

Mine is just called "setup.exe" but I did download it a couple of years back when it was first released. Installation was as easy as Zec said. I buy digital downloads all the time and not just Trainz stuff. Maybe you should check your download software, anti virus, etc.

I guess I'm somewhat puzzled why you need to rebuild your computer because an installation went sour. For me that would be a last resort.

Do not do a windows repair. All you had to do was to rename the file with an .exe at the end. Many threads on this topic. It should look like this.

If you had windows 7, your windows explorer may be set to hide extensions. If so this link will tell you how to fix that problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219
