When I download new locos for TRS2006, i opened them with content dispatcher, and it says "installed succefully" but it still is'nt in the game. What am I doing wrong?
Another thing to check for is missing dependencies.
In the case of locomotives, this includes bogeys, hornsounds,engine specs, enginesounds, and sometimes original asset files if it is aliased to (made from) another asset.
Give an example of one of the assets names or kuid, and I'll research it for you ?
In the config file the loco (or its dependencies) may be a trainzbuild higher than 2.6, and thus not usable, unless you modify the config file (which sometimes can be done, with difficulty).
What you may find though is that some parts of the forum are not available to you.
The solution to this is to register your serial number with N3V.
Click Serial Number above, then select your Trainz version, where you bought it from, enter the code given to you when you bought the game, then click the submit button.
Make sure you have the version number tab enabled in CM and don't download anything with a higher version number than yours.

NBMarton... You do not have a registered version of Trainz at the moment, register your copy ASAP and your problems will be solved. :wave:
DDyay, as cascaderailroad has stated, your serial number is already registered, although if you do get any later versions, these can be registered by clicking Serial Number above and filling in the form.
The comment was directed towards NBMarton, who should have created a new thread.
A Kuid number is a individual number which every piece of content has, like this one (on the DLS):
UK WSR Road with grass
<kuid2:520707:1417:1>
You can find this out in CM (Content Manager) or the DLS (Download Station) Its quite likely that the item is open for edit. in CM, type the name and if there is a spanner next to it, you need to go right-click, edit, commit.
Ah, then you're probably definitely missing certain dependencies for those locos.
Reading the Trainzone page, it says all the locos on that page require a separate steam sound file to work, the download link for which is on the top of the page. Download and install that and hopefully those locos should then work.
I've downloaded all of that content onto 2010, and i had many problems too. I've fixed them all now, but the most common error was the mesh file, whick was a .pm instead of an .im file. you need to download Pevs PM2IM to fix this (http://members.optusnet.com.au/~villaump/pevsoft.htm)
