I just bought TS2009, and installed and patched it up today too. I restarted my computer and clicked in the TS2009 Icon to start it up. and this is what I get. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TS2009\Trainz.exe is not a valid Win32 Application. " I dont know what to do, I cant get a refund as I opened the software, and now I am out 30 bucks. Please help. I set capability to Admin and still no joy. Please help!

Win 7
Intel Quad Core q9650
Nvidia 285 GTX
8 Gigs ram
1 terra HDD

LTpug: The first thing I can think of is, are you duly registered with Auran?? If you are then do extended data repair..You can do this through CMP..In the upper left hand corner you will find File click on that which brings a window down..The other thing I can think of is are you in Direct X or OpenGL..You can check this by open up launcher the click on options..Then click on Display it should tell you..Change to the opposite one and see if that will help..Welcome:)

That error has nothing to do with trainz, it is a windows issue which I had a lot of them with XP. Win 7 (64) got rid of it on my computer but I never did get a solution for it. Sorry cant be more positive.

I am running windows 7 64 bit , sorry forgot to include that in my specs. But I would do what you said, but the Icon when I click on it is blank, what automatically pops up is that error. I did uninstall and reinstall and it worked, but I didn't download the patch this time. Could it be the patch? I am afraid to try patching the software.

Are you applying the right patch? There are several different ones dependant on your original build number and if you get the wrong one then the game wont work

Wow!, did not know that. Should I use the Downloader or would it be wiser just to DL from the wedsite the correct patch then, just in case the downloader is Downloading the wrong one. One question could my anitvirus also play a roll in this too. Sorry for the sutpid questions, but like pappy used to say " the only dumb question is the one not asked " then he would roll himself a cigerette with Price Albert tobaco. Thanks for the advice my friend.

I downloaded my patch manually then disconnected my internet, turned off my antivirus software and installed the patch. It worked without a problem but does take a long time so be patient

Ok, so I disabled Anti-virus and all that stuff and it did it again. So apparently I cannot update trainz at all (ts2009). My build is 38411, I don't know what to do, I now have to uninstall, and reinstall and play it on the glitchy buggy version. I was going to buy 2010 soon, but I don't know if this i going to happen now, I don't want to be out 50 bucks too.

Ok, I got the problem figured out finally. It was my Anti-virus. But I had to unistall my Anti-Virus for it to work. It wasn't enough to just turn it all off. THe Anti-Virus I use is CA Internet Security. Just in case anyone else is having problems and has CA, try to uninstall it.

Great ! Not sure if your AV is a paid for version but one free version that is very good and light on system resource is Microsoft Security Essentials. It is free to get from the Micorsoft downloads page and has served me well since it was released. I have set it to NOT scan my trainz folder which can help with running the game when additional items are called for from the folder
