Peak Rail / Midland Railway route

Hi there,

Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a route that includes Matlock (derbyshire) to rowsley.

This is currently Peak Rail, but was once part of the line to manchester. I'd prefer a modern version but any period of it's history would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Well I'm doing the other end.....see my sig....

Part one covers New Mills, Gowhole, Chinley, Chapel-en-le-frith, Dove Holes, and part of the Hope Valley to Cowburn tunnel.

Part two will be Dove Holes, Peak Forest, Millers Dale, Rowsley.

Part three will be Buxton if I still have the energy for it....

No plans to go further south then Rowsley though.

regards

I produced the whole of the Peak route, well from Ambergate through to Hazel Grove anyway, via TransDem - just terrain with OS map textures and a single track (not height adjusted) to trace the railway. However, the file size is 126MB! Although this comes down to a 68MB as a CDP2 I'm not sure why it's so big, but obviously difficult to share by email.

I'd love to share it with others who could make better use of it (the route's just so big I've never been able to get on with it). But how to share such a huge file?

I feel your pain...mine is at 64MB at the moment, and growing.

When a file is that size I usually just upload it to a webserver and share the link. There are various online storage services which can do this in a more selective manner if that's what you need.

As for getting it onto the DLS I suspect you'll need Auran's assistance for that.

Hi Fellas. If you want to share a route file with someone, I recommend "YouSendIt".
Check it out here https://www.yousendit.com

It's free and it works.

If you just want to share your file with the whole world, you'd need a web site to host it.
Perhaps Trainz Pro Routes (TPR) or, dare I suggest the DLS?

Cheers

I'd be interested in seeing it.

Thanks John
