I would like to know more about payware locomotives from these websites and if they are worth the money to purchase. Also, the waiting period and reliability or service provided. Tell me what the quality is and the model itself.

Yeah I was wondering what payware is okay too as I was looking to get some SP steam and diesels in old colours. had no luck with VMD as their US payware section is "under construction" and registration for their forun seems to have been lost! Am running TRS2004.
Cheers

This is subjective, having said that Cowboys Trainz station is recommended for quality.

Steam Locomotive Works specialises in German locos I find their textures a little similar on their locos. I don't have a good knowledge of German locos so can't comment on how accurate they are.

For UK items http://www.trainz-britannia.com/ is highly recommended.

Total Model Trainz

Perchpole has a links page here that tells you about the focus of various payware sites and other sites he thinks are of interest. His payware is of high quality. Both he and Paul Hobbs work professionally in 3D.

http://www.totalmodeltrainz.com/pages/links.html

http://www.44090digitalmodels.co.uk/ recommended quality wise.

Paulz Trainz traditionally created items that no one else was creating. So you'll find items here that are not available elsewhere and he does commisions. It's been a long time since I made a purchase from him so I wouldn't like to comment on today's quality but his initial textures were not a strong point.

Phil Campbell's World of Trainz is highly recommended.

Don't overlook the DLS

Yeah, their payware is awesome. I have some of it and it's the only site I buy payware from at the moment.

Waiting Period: a few minutes usually

Reliability: All my items will work with TRS2004, TRS2006 and TS2009

Service: 12 months warranty, will usually tailor items as needed (livery weathering etc)

here's my quick summery about the requested payware sites.

Steam Locomotive Works:
don't know anything about this site (just really looked at it now) but form a quick glance they appear to be very high quality.

Total Model Trainz:
also never heard or seen this site before. but from a quick glance they also appear to be high quality.

RRMods:
have well over $80 worth of payware from them. They make high quality models. My only complaint is they have to many locomotives to chose from. :hehe:

Paulz Trainz:
(no offense to paul) some of the American content is below par but the British content appears to be par and above. (witch it appears its what your looking for) I like how he runs his customer support (from viewing form a 3ed person view) I'm even starting to warm up to buying the few American pieces of content that appears above par.

Cowboys Trainz Station:
only 1 payware item available (UP 9000 4-10-2) But it's a highly recommended piece of payware model to get if your in to American steam.

Altho you didn't ask for these here's a quick sumery abotu these other 2 payware sites that poped up on this topic.

Jointed Rail:
this site poped up in the last month or 2. but the payware is probally some of the highest quaility in trainz. The locomotives seam like a game all in there selfs. Jsut download the EMD SD60 demo and see for your self.

VMD:
Pretty much the same as jointed rail except some of the locomotives dont' appear to have custom cab views.

All the statments about the quaility of these sites where made by eather viewing the models as a friend's place or i bought some of the models my self.

They only my oppions but hopefuly they help you making an informed dission when buying.
