Pathway to the "help" desk ?

Since TANE says my log in..that I use everyday isn't valid...and I can't open the game on my PC..(why do I need a log in ?), I went searching for the help desk...and get the runaround to click "troubleshoot" which spins me back and forth between the help desk link and troubleshoot.....( no, I'm not making this up)

So...how do I get a hold of " Planet Auran" to get this resolved ?
Thanks

I just tried the Help Desk merry-go-round and yes it is a bit confusing but it does actually work.

Firstly a quick set of steps you might carry out because this invalid login issue does come up on these forums often enough.

From the TANE launcher
  • select Trainz Settings
  • then selected the Internet tab
  • enter your username and password (the same ones you use for this forum). If the correct name and a password are already present then delete them and enter them again
  • wait until you get a message saying something like "password and username accepted"
  • close the Trainz Setting and Launcher windows
  • restart TANE

Does that make a difference?

I'll try it and let you know !
Thanks

oh wait ... I did do that. It still came back as Invalid.

Update:

and yet again.
Authentication Failed

Just curious....what would happen if my internet was down...which does happen....I couldn't get in to my route ?

That could explain it or more likely the N3V servers are down.

But back to the Helpdesk. I tried ...

From Troubleshooter (the black button at the top)
  1. General/Other
  2. Cannot log in and click Next
  3. Submit a Support Ticket and click Next
  4. Fill in the details as requested and then click Submit (at the very bottom)

Thanks again.
Somehow I must have missed that....I'll let you know if I find it OK

anyway.....are you saying if THEIR servers are down, I can't get into TRAINZ on my PC ?
You have to be on the internet to use Trainz now ?
That doesn't sound right.....and I hope that's not the case.

( my net is working ...or I wouldn't be on here right now.....)

UPDATE:
I just went to HELPDESK...clicked it again and now it just spins and won't load. Something weird is going on.
This shouldn't effect whether or not I can load TRAINZ on my pc........I sincerely hope not.

am I the ONLY one having this problem ? ....lucky me ?

Update: I finally got in to write the Help Desk Ticket......Thanks for your help. Is the help desk ticket like some modern waybill or something? It sounds so...."official".

If their DLS and DLC servers are down, and I see no evidence of that, then you cannot use CM to download any DLS content or purchase and automatically download (from within TANE itself) any DLC payware content. CM needs to know you username and password to do that.

Right...I get that and it's always been that way AFAIR. What I'm talking about is just getting in to TRAINZ on a PC to work on a route or run a scenario for example.

That's all I was wanting to do last night and this LOG IN fail prevented me from doing that. I STILL can't open Trainz due to this log in fail.

BTW sorry that both threads I started last night have morphed in to one. That wasn't my intention, they started as two separate issues but that's what's happened.

Regarding the morphed threads it may be worth asking a moderator if they can merge them or lock one with a link to the other.

I've just had another thought as well. Have you got any non-English characters or spaces in your password?

Shane

no, I sure don't. Very simple ...one capital letter...a few lower case...and two numbers .

AHAAAAAAHHHHH.....I just gave it away. I'm ruined ! oh....and all in English.
