Patched to 58414 - DISASTER!!!!

It did indeed happen to Auran, which is why Trainz is now an N3V product. Did it hurt the Trainz project? No; the Trainz project slowly shrank under Auran Developments PTY LTD and has slowly but steadily grown under N3V Games PTY LTD.

kind regards,

chris

Development shrank under AURAN because they neglected Trainz at that time and concentrated and spend all energy and money on FURY, which turned out to be a mega flop and consequently led to the downfall of AURAN. At least at that time with AURAN, there were trains enthusiasts and hobbyists working there, the Brew Crew, when working/developing on Trainz. Now of course this is quite different, accountants and programmers, who do not seem to know much of Rail Roading and the inner workings of it (by the looks as one can see with stuff up after stuff up) are in charge now.

This is what has changed since the good old AURAN days, unless someone from your end can enlighten us about what has changed for the better since then.

Disgruntled, grumpy and sad.

TS12 is a sad mess. I'm really tired of the N3V blokes and the N3V apologists and self appointed experts on this forum. Stop blaming the customer because his PC isn't "right" or the setting are "wrong" or has done something incorrectly and say we're sorry we've created this mess. Just be honest. Your attitude that these problems are somehow the users fault, isn't going to help or encourage repeat custom. It should be possible to buy a version of Trainz and do what you want without having to download patches hotfixes or whatever else because the initial product had glaring flaws that somehow slipped past. It should also be possible to build a route using included trees, unfortunately inbuilt Speedtrees are mostly unusable due to very poor quality and only a vague resemblance to real trees. Route builders are then left with the option of getting large tree packs from Russia or downloading a 50mb from DLS. Not the best options. Once you've registered your Trainz version I suppose there's no possibility of getting any refund. Both Rail Simulator and Rail Works run excellently straight out of the box for both route building and running trains. In future I'll be sticking with those. No more Trainz for me. N3V where the customer isn't right.

It's been proven elsewhere that the customer is not always right. As I've said before, certain issues with Trainz may only affect some users due to configuration differences.

Whilst I agree that some faults are due to internal coding, some faults are actually caused by third-party content that is not efficient enough or has internal script faults that are not flagged up in Content Manager.

Hi All
We are working on these issues with the DLC system. This particular issue is one that we are looking into, as the serial numbers are properly registered. I will speak to our team again tomorrow on this, as it is taking longer than we would prefer to resolve this issue.

Unfortunately, not all bugs can be found through beta testing, and some only occur in very specific circumstances that we can't always test for. In the case of the DLC system, many of these are related to connection issues. In this case, we are still investigating the issue, and unfortunately it is taking longer than expected or preferred.

Regards
Well, can you try to work on Chris Bergmann's "It's not my software attitude as well?" It would be a much needed fresh breeze given all the shoddy upgrades and man-hours his perfect software cause in the actual field. // Frank

Hail 49922 :Y::Y:

All running well, all payware present, stress levels have returned to normal.

Zec, as for the FTC, I respect the fantastic addons that members create, I have downloaded many in the past. Fine Creations. Now in 2013, when you use the Download station to search for routes / scenarios for TS2012, the amount of rubbish up there is incredible. There seems to be no filtering to protect you from bad creations. You have to download it and install it before you realise it is rubbish. I recently ran a download, and after 15 minutes of play, trains were met with mountains and derailed, track sizes mixed up, tracks suddenly trailing off into the sea, down ravines etc. Maybe it is a big ask, but uploads to the DLS should only be allowed by renowned creators with a Trainz reputation.

I wish everyone the best, and continued enjoyment of Trainz.

That would be stretching the point. However, a solution of sorts is nearly at hand. I can guarantee you that soon as get back next Tuesday we'll be starting some WIKI projects pages where we can list and avoid such stuff. Email me the kuid of that and I'll start with that one. I'm about to travel, but an advanced look is on the Wikibook at User:Fabartus/temp (small T, cap counts!) for a Let's Help cleanup Auran and N3V kuids project. Why they have the 'bad kuids' behind a https:// server wall is really crazy. // Frank
