Passenger-enabled stations...

I'm using the AJS stations, or at least the 2 that came with TRS2019, and I'm having limited success.

I read somewhere that because the AJS code is old and the Trainz base code has changed so much, that they can be unreliable.
And of course, we lost Andi.

So I was wondering what recommendations people might have for alternative invisible passenger-enabled stations.
Google AI suggested DMT or SAP stations.
I haven't checked them out yet, as I posted this first, and I'm not sure if they're the invisible type or not.

Any help appreciated. (y)

not sure on invisbale ones, but sap and des ones have a lot that work that have visible stations

edited sap has two invisible ones on the dls

I was going to suggest pencil42's small, medium and large Generic Platforms, but their build number is 2.9 which may not be usable in the latest versions of Trainz.

These platforms offer the following commodities:
Passenger, passengers western, Mail Product, Express Product, and Baggage.

Thanks guys.
Just went through the DLS and downloaded the ones you suggested.
I'll give them a go tomorrow (it's late here).

I'm beginning to think that the problems are with the drivers/driver commands, and not Andi's stations.
Been testing getting to the station using "Drive to" and "Navigate to", and the passengers don't seem to get on and off.
But when I use "Drive to Trackmark" without any command to load the passengers, the train stops, the doors open, and passengers unload and load, so that seems to be the way to go.

And don't get me started on the driver command "PassengerLoad".
It looked like it could be what I needed to use, but I'm not sure if I should use it to open the doors, then use it to close the doors...

Going to do a bit more testing, but trackmarks seem to be the way to go.
So far, it's the only thing that works reliably, once I get the trackmarks in the correct position.

N3V's interactive stations seemed like such a good idea when they first came out, but they never worked reliably without some jiggery pokery.
For me, it should have been "If a train stops over the trigger area of a station, then ALL doors open and ALL passengers disembark/embark, and then the doors close.".
If that resulted in carriage doors opening off platform then that would be on us for not position the trigger correctly.
I don't know what they were thinking.

Wow, that's twice I've been on my soapbox today! I'll stop now.
I'm off to bed!

Cheers guys.

I updated those about a month ago; the current build version is 5.0 and they *should* work in in the TRS2019 SP6 and later; in all script performance modes - compatibility, performance, etc
Iirc, the old ones had stopped working due to the deprecation of one of the API calls.

Let me know if you run into problems, though!

Sadly, it is Andi's stations and not the driver commands. The Content Repair Group has been going through Andi's assets, along with nearly 8,000 other assets by other content-creators, and has been bringing them up-to-date and ensuring that they are error free. The process is slow and the volunteers are far and few between.

At some point in the last few years suddenly my stations started doing the same thing using pguy's timetable rule and his mission code path stop ('MC - PathStop) - the doors open and close, but passengers don't change. I also have plenty of cyberstorm's UK Bus Stops in my route and the bus doesn't even stop now.

I've tried various replacements but without success.

It's as if the trigger area for being able to load/unload the passengers has been contracted. I'm assuming an update in TRS22 caused the change.

maybe it is changes in the Trainz base code over recent versions that's causing the problems, as some have said above.
Andi's stations and the DMT one's I tried yesterday as a replacement are both older assets, but seeing as I'm looking for invisible stations, I haven't tried anything too recent.

Maybe it's time for me to admit that I'm going to have to use stations that are pre-built, and try to get my stations as close to prototypical as I can using them.

I'm going to start by downloading Pencil's and Dave's stations, as Pencil said he updated his recently and Dave said his seem to work fine, and see how it goes.

John, in another thread I saw you giving advice to someone to use the "PassengerLoad" driver command.
As I said above, I can't make out what it is it's trying to do with various options, and nothing I tried seemed to make and difference (this was on Andi's and DMT's older stations, so maybe it will work better on modern stations.
How do you use that driver command John?

I'm going to do some tests with it all now.

EDIT: Well, the tests were inconclusive.
Both of those stations use custom passengers so I couldn't have told if it was working or not, but the doors didn't open for either when using "navigate to" or "drive to", and the train stopped at different positions in the station (middle of the station for Pencil's station, and stopped at the beginning of the platform for Dave's).

Does the loco make a difference?
Could that be a cause of problems?
I'm using the BR DMU 101 for most of my testing, as it's such a great model (I think it was by JBVector?).
It does have a couple of problems, so maybe there's something there that could cause a problem with stations?
Don't know, but watching that Diesel DMU pulling into the wild west station was different.

I'll have to try different passenger trains to test with, but I'm not sure off-hand which carriages built-into TRS2019 are passenger enabled, and which ones on the DLS are, especially if you limit it to UK models.
