Ottawa Model railroad show in October

ignore my stupidity but what is a TOTR?

Trainz on the Road. Essentially you demo the product and flog a few copies in places where you have a number of railroad / railway enthusiasts.

You basically need a few bodies and a couple of computer systems.

Hi, John

I have for the past few years had a table for TOTR at the Ottawa show. It is a great show and they have a great dinner on Saturday evening as well. Space has been hard to get and it took a couple of years to get a spot. Do you want to take the lead in doing this show. I may be able to come as well this year again. I can provide the stock to sell and have posters, table cloths, etc for such TOTR shows.

I probably have the expertise but don't have a car and live on the opposite side of the city so I can do a day but would find it difficult to provide hardware. I hadn't realised you'd managed to do them before.

Do we have a few more bodies? jwhelan0112 Gmail.com

MartinVK from Montreal sometimes joins me at the Ottawa event. I could probably pick you up if we do do it. Let's see if any other Ottawa folks pick up on this thread. Where do you actually live in Ottawa? What area?

I live in Orleans, K4A 1M7. I think the easiest thing would be for me to just rent a car, I do from time to time. I'd prefer to cover just one day of the two. October 13th and 14th, 2007. Saturday 11:00 – 17:30. Sunday 10:00 – 16:30.

A scheduling conflict now prevents me from organizing the Ottawa TOTR event so it will not happen.

There is still a chance that I will be visiting the show this year. Not selling, just looking and perhaps buying a souvenir or two. Should know later this week, stay tuned. If you're also visiting, perhaps we can arrange for a mini Trainz meeting?

One wonders if some thing could be thrown together even if it was just a demo. Might keep the table at least.

Without the possibility of revenue from game sales, to offset the cost of table rental, it would be a pure expense. As well, my plans have changed somewhat in the meanwhile - might only be there for one day.

Be sure to introduce yourselves with your Trainz namez when you visit our table at Montreal. At Ottawa, I'll probably be wearing my black Trainz polo as I wonder around the exhibits taking pictures.

If anyone reading this thead wishes to purchase a copy of TRS2004, TRS2006, Trainz Routes Volume 1, Trainz Routes Volume 2 or Trainz Classics .... visit the Railtronics booth at the Ottawa Railfair. Stephen, the owner, will have copies available.

Well OVAR was interesting from a modeling point of view, lots of ideas being shown on the layouts but rather thin from a Trainz perspective. As Sensei_1 mentioned, Railtronics had a good selection of 2004, 2006, TC as well as Trainz Routes for sale.

Here's what should visit every layout. :mop:
