Some excerpts from the post are:

Please for our sake, stop bringing up old threads.
Either get it together or stop posting!

Question.... is this an opinion or a demand?

If you come across a thread, please check the post dates, located at the top left of every post, if it isn't from the last two weeks, do NOT post.
It brings the thread back up, and gets on people's nerves.

Question....is this an opinion or a demand?

People around here can't stand people who bring up old threads and post simple crap...so don't be one of them.

Question(s).... is this an opinion or a demand?
What if the old thread brings up.... complex feces?

While I have no particular opinion regarding...old threads...I do find it difficult to understand why someone would tell anyone....what, or, what not...to post.

The CoC does NOT spell out any restrictions on old threads.

Are the MODS bothered by old threads?

I do see some interesting things brought up in ...old...threads.

Oh well, have a good day all.

Regards,

If you feel bringing up an old post is relevant, go for it. There is a lot of good information that should be brought back up from time to time, especially with the lousy search function. New people are coming every day and could benefit from it.

As far as I'm concerned whoever posted that should get a warning. Honestly, telling someone not to post or not post simple questions? You have got to be kidding.

The real Mods of this forum are pretty fair handed. I've lost my brain on more than one occasion and have stated my opinions, good or bad, with no repercussions what so ever. There is a small hand full here though that seem to feel the need to mod this forum to their tastes. THAT needs to stop. Dictating what someone can or can't post is pretty inane and none of their business.

If I do a search and find an old post and want to revive it I will. I really don't care what anyone thinks. The only rules that apply are the COC, not what a few feel they need to add to it.

Who ya callin old!

Sorry my friend, but the best threads are more likely to have some season to them! Most of the new posts present questions that have already been answer in the "older" posts. One mustremember to think before you leap! I am sure your grandpa knew things that you will never know!

Hummm...a very strange request indeed :o

Shall we then assume that threads older then 14 days are fully debated, and no new opinions are valid?

Shall we assume that we "never" get new members that might have another view, or can bring the discussion further, or need a clarification....shall he/she then post a link to the old thread....and then you have to read it again, or shall he/she rater ask the same question in a new thread......why then bother to search for old thread/solutions then??

Maybe the best deal is to put up a post that says...Regulars...please don't read post older then 14 days...it might just be what you have read before :udrool:

Old threads are a valuable resource, later posts can increase that value. It is a pity that quite often what would have been interesting images have broken links because the original images have been deleted. Do Imageshack and others have limits to the number of images hosted?

Open an account with Godaddy, buy a domain and you get a credit for a free hosting account. No need for a web site, host your own images which can stay there for as long as you maintain the domain.

A lot of old threads can have a lot of information and help that may have been forgotten. Resurrecting old threads can jog memories and solutions. The annoying thing about some members is that they bring up an old thread about content that has been discarded or abandoned. The OP has asked if it is available or when will it be finished. They have not bothered to read the entire thread. Then they start posting about getting no response to their enquiries. Which if they had read the threads entire content they would of known that it was not available.

Just my opinion on old threads.

Regards Dave.

I can't see the problem with old posts, if its relavent and you need a little more information from a thread why go thought the whole process of repeating everything again. Its been a bit precious I think to say everyone gets annoyed with oldposts, can't see the problem in it sure dosn't annoy me.

Cheers

Lots
