You might want to look a bit better than that. I hate to say it, but the OptiPlex 745s are bit on the old side. The OptiPlex 780s and up are much better machines. Keep in mind that these are office-grade machines, even though they are capable of running the 64-bit OS, and can be equipped with a lot of RAM. You will most likely have to shop for a video card such as an NVidia 700 or 800-series card since the OptiPlex units come with Intel Built-in video which is suited for office-type stuff, but not for heavy duty graphics. The Intel chip isn't even supported, at least at this time, by TS12, and I'm sure won't be under T:ANE either.

But have you given sufficient thought to which colour would blend in best with your room? If you have a cat have you considered will it be warm enough for it to sleep on? I'm forever finding mine asleep on my laptop.

Hi Karen,

Same with my cat! She zapped my mouse and keyboard sleeping on it. :)

Didn't you know that cats can read? That could very well be cat talk for the kitty's life forums he/she belongs to. :)

Mine watches videos with me as well. Way back with TRS2004, one of my cats used to run into my room whenever I started up the game. Auran had the alien critters that would bow to the Auran logo. The music would come on, and come in from wherever she was in the house to watch the aliens.

Ooooommmmm! Ooooommmmm!

I kind of miss those little guys. TS04 from memory.

Getting back to the original post. My new motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z87Z comes with a video port on the board itself. Technology is repeating itself.

Yup. I wonder if I played that video if she'd remember! :)

My older Intel motherboard, by older a year or two now, has the same with a Thunderbolt connector for the display. Sadly it's not a spectacular video controller and just the standard Intel 4xxxx series chipset, but would they want to include a huge video circuit on there anyway.

Technology sure is repeating its self as I think about my Visual V-1083 Commuter computer.

Everyone puts a desktop low, on the floor, with poor air flow, prone to accumulating dust.

My desktop is my baby ... and it sits right "in my face" with a window fan, and an air conditioner, blowing on it in summertime (in Antarctica)
