Oculus Rift Support

Remember the Withered Arm
Just curious. The Oculus Rift is the next big thing to hit computer gaming and will make "Virtual Reality" completely immersible. Will Trainz support Oculus Rift or will we have to wait for a new Trainz version? At the moment, Oculus Rift is only available to Developers (hmmm.....) but is likely to be let loose on the General Public sometime next year:

From the article in Wikipedia, games have to be specially designed (i.e., redesigned) to work with the Oculus Rift. Sounds like it would require a whole new redesigned Trainz version just for this device. And, there is no firm public release date as yet (sometime in 2014, maybe!!). I wouldn't hold my breath for a Trainz version that will work on this thing. But, who knows what N3V is up to.

To be honest, if the next Trainz was made specifically for the Oculus Rift, I would NOT buy it. I applaud the design and all....but for simulators, that isn't the best idea. Especially when it comes to building routes and for people who might not have the money to afford the Oculus Rift. I can really only see the Oculus Rift for FPS (First Person Shooter) games, like Call of Duty, Battlefield etc.

Considering I've never used 3D technology before, I'm not a fan of such gizmos. Besides, what would be the point of environmental immersion if the environment is rubbish in the first place? On this point, making "the other sim" Oculus/3D/whatever-compatible makes more sense. N3V would do well to improve on the core software which is admittedly pretty dated.
