object is there, but won't respond

I'm using 2004. I have a weird scenery object problem. I can place the object - it shows up normally in the object selector, and shows up normally on the ground after I place it, but then Trainz just doesn't recognize it. It won't respond to move, rotate, change elevation, identify, or delete. So far this only occurs with one object (one of my own). I have replaced the im file from the gmax original, but with the same result. Anybody heard of this before? Have any suggestions?

Is the object centered to 0;0 in G-max? Once it's centered, make sure the pivot point is centered to the object.

Thankyou Claude and Deane. Yes, the object is centred, and the pivot is centred.

It's a fairly simple object (just an extruded line, really), so I guess I'll just re-make it from scratch and hope for the best.

Okay, so here's the weirdest part: I finally did get the object (a simple salt-box house with a metal chimney) to respond, but only if I put the pointer exactly on the chimney. Anywhere else, and Trainz doesn't recognize it. And I have a number of other houses almost identical to this that don't have this problem. I am completely flummoxed, but at least I CAN get the thing to move with a little patience.

G-Max does weird things occasionally, for no discernible reason. Congratulations on beating the project into a semblance of shape, anyway. I hope the next project is a little easier to work with.
