NYC subway Route

Acelejalde, your NYCTA stations and tunnels look much better than mine.

Thank you Jeff for your kind words, but without your stations and bridges, my nycta route would have never even been built, so thank you for your amazing content. The fact that you jad every conceivable platform layout and style inspired me to take it to the next step. So, dont sell your stations short!

I am officially starting my new nycta route later today and will try to get some screens in

I'm creating a brand new version of my NYCTA subway system in TS12 from the ground up. I started in the Coney Island area. TS12's support for splines with 6 or more tracks makes it easier for me to create new route.

Awesome! Are you creating new content for it as well? As for me personally, I like starting in Midtown, around 59th Street and working my way up and down to the outer boroughs. That way when I get to the Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn, things are spaced out somewhat accurately in relation to Manhattan.

Acelejalde, You'll need TS2012 to run my new NYCTA subway system because I created new splines with six or more tracks on them. I did the following routes:

Brighton Beach Route (B and Q) from Stillwell Avenue to Brighton Beach.
Culver Route (F and G) from Stillwell Avenue to Ditmas Avenue.
Sea Beach Route (N) from Stillwell Avenue to to 8th Avenue.
West End Route (D) from Stillwell Avenue to to 9th Avenue.
4th Avenue Route (D, N, and R) from 95th Street to Bay Ridge Avenue.

Sea Beach and West End Routes are ready to be connected to 4th Avenue Route.

What signals are you using? And did you make new stations and tracks?

4th Avenue Route (D, N, and R) from 95th Street to DeKalb Avenue.

Sea Beach and West End Routes were connected to 4th Avenue Route.

The new route isn't passenger-enabled. I updated and created content for the route. I don't use signals.

Hey Jeff,

I was wondering two things--

Did you create new stations for these routes? If so, is it possible to receive the asset folders, so I could edit the configs and import them into 2010?

Also, I wouldn't mind signalling the project for you once you're near completion :D (I know this means I will have to get TS12 eventually, but if I see photos of your route and it blows my mind, as I'm sure it will, then I will definitely purchase).

acelejalde, you can import content from TRS2010 or earlier into TS12. In TRS2006 to TRS2010, you need to open content for editing in Content Manager before importing content into TS12.

Importing

Jeff--

Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping to import some of your TS12 content into TRS2010, which is why I requested the asset folders, for a direct import. When you're in content manager and "open for edit"-ing, changing the build number in the config file can sometimes go buggy. However, if you have the original folder, and change the build number prior to import, then things should go okay.

Most of my subway content can be used on TRS2009, TRS2010, and TS12. I have a warning for you: some of the new track splines are for TS12 only because TS12 is the only version that supports splines with six or more tracks.

Brighton Beach Route (B and Q) -completed.
Culver Route (F and G) from Stillwell Avenue to Ditmas Avenue.
Sea Beach Route (N) - completed.
West End Route (D) - completed.
4th Avenue Route (D, N, and R) - completed.
BMT Broadway Route (N, Q, and R) from Whitehall Street to Canal Street.
BMT Nassau Street Route (J, M, and Z) from Broad Street to Essex Street.
Manhattan Bridge is done.

Which areas besides DeKalb and Coney Island have six tracks or more? I believe only the (D) diverge at 36th St and the (N) at 59th. I can re-create those on my own, without having to use a 6-track spline.
