NYC subway Route

Depends on what day you are talking about.
And depending on what area of NYC, you may have to define which, "snow," you mean.:hehe:

You can use pictures for textures, supposedly it is legal but in this day of anti-terrorism, you may get asked about it so I would suggest asking railfans of the NYC subway on train forums what they do when they want to take pictures just so you know how to handle possible encounters with authorities.

Hello everyone, I though I would have gotten the tracks made and posted but I will be held back a bit on the tracks. I will soon have the tracks made and posted on Trainz DSL.

List to be made and posted:
Elevated Subway Tracks
Tunnel Subway Tracks
Elevated & Underground Stations

Great I'm soo excited for the new content!! Did you already upload the stuff to the DLS and they're waiting to be approved? Or they're still sitting on your computer till you have the time to upload em? Btw can you upload these in a backup place like Trainz Commuter Rail 3rd party downloads.

Hello,:(

As of right now this thread is dead. Seeing that so many is all ready been made, like the Elevated tracks, Subway station is all ready in the process of finishing as well I would guess tunnel is being made by someone else. All I can say I try to keep up the time with making the mods for trainz but I'm not that fast enough to make them. So my ideas well I will say it could have been given off to others so im not much in care for it any more with my ideas. As long its going to good uses for making the New improved look for the Trainz Subway that the modelers are making for.

So, im not sure what else I can do for the NYCTA Team. I feel I let the hole team down, im not sure if I'm still part of that. Being that im so slow getting anything made and done. So I deleted all the tunnels and that R40 train that was being made. I have been using 3Dmax a lot and its been slow for me to get things worked out I don't know to much on animations im just starting out but all well. Well since everything been made already I guess I go make routes or something when all the mods is made and finish or something.

Well i guess I will sit and wait for everything to be done so I can do something with route making.

As of right now this thread is dead, I will talk or something on the updated NYCTA thread that is being used now.

What? Sorry to hear this.

I don't think anyone was working on an nycta r40 for trainz, but I hope you don't feel discouraged so much that you give up in your next trainzing pursuit. I was nonetheless extremely impressed by your train stations, I hope you reconsider before deleting them.
I'm sorry to hear that you're "relinquishing your sword,"
Eric :(

Who?
What?
Where?
When?
Why?
How?
Am I reading this right? Someone made NYCTA content so you think you have to stop?
Your decision, others have done similar about other content but I disagree with the reason. In all my time in this community I ahve seen creators work on similar items and the end users decide what they like.

Are you looking for pity because you can't finish or something. If so, you won't get it. Who cares what other people are making, you should be making content not because other people want it, but because YOU want to make it. Although I am not too fond of the NYCTA myself, I'm glad that lots of people are making content for it, because I have myself been able to convince a few people to modify it to fit into a CTA layout. Almost NOTHING has EVER been made specifically for the Chicago CTA. Its only recently that Chicago and its MASSIVE rapid transit system has gotten some attention, and I joined Trainz back in 2004-2005ish, so I know what people have done. I remember when Magicland released his subway pack.

Just because a few people are now focusing on CTA content, does that mean I'll stop? Hell no, I already have a huge head start! And whats more, I enjoy what I am doing! I do it because I want to do it. Hopefully soon BStyles will release his modified track that I requested, and I can completely replace my outdated elevated track, and move on to more accurate track.

But I still have buildings, stations, shops, switch towers, there are a million other things that I build besides track and tunnels alone (ok I don't build tunnels, but you get the idea).

Fine if you don't want to make stations and tunnels. Try researching some of the interlocking towers, look into the shop buildings the NYCTA uses, surly no one is working specifically on shop buildings. Do something like that if you must. But otherwise, who cares, build what you want to build

Just because your going slow in your work doesnt mean you just quit. I mean look at this http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=51416&page=10 http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=51416&page=11.

See your station your the first person i know to make that beauty so please dont give just because your going at a slower pace than everyone else. Just think it like this the slower the better ok. please dont give everyone including me would hate to see you stuff go to waste. Right guys?

And besides, Its always better if your using stuff YOU created in your routes. gives you a sense of satisfaction. Many years back I made a model of the TARDIS from the show Dr. Who. Its in almost every single one of my routes, hidden somewhere. Sort of an Easter egg. That was basically the only point of the model to me, just to hide it in my own routes (still searching for a place to hide it in Chicago)

Updates

Subway Tunnels have been submitted by ExpressLine3Train to myself & BStyles and are currently being tweaked before the final release. No date set yet, so please be patient.

El tracks are already released in full (current and vintage models). Check the other NYCTA! Pics! thread for more information on where to download (they are NOT on the DLS).

El stations are being worked on by BStyles as well--he is also a full-time developer for BVE, so again, no release date.

I have no clue on the Coney Island-Stillwell Av station. EL3T was working on that, but you'll have to ask him about the status of the project.

Hope that answers all of your questions.

F Line Maybe :)

Thanx That really help ill be asking EL3T if he is going to Finish Stillwell Ave/Coney Island Station cause I really want that station I been thinking about doing the F Line but the only thing that is stopping me is some of the Stations and how the Tunnels turn underground how far the Stations should be from each other, but when I figure all that out and get the F Line done im gonna need the Stillwell Ave Station, and The Coney Island Yard I already started that.

NYCTA Subway Stations Completed!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on my progress with my share of the mega NYCTA route-building package.

I have completed all of the NYCTA subway station configurations, committed them to Trainz, and have tested them all out. They are looking fabulous! I will continue to work out any bugs I spot, so that they'll be damn-near flawless when you all see them. It's late now, so I will post pictures soon.

Because of the scope of replacing all of the current system I had (those who have been following my progress know how far I've come) is very difficult, I am debating rebuilding a fresh new route encompassing all of my material, so far. I only say this because it's difficult to replace static objects (Jeff's stations), with objects and splines, have to measure it all out a hundredfold, then relay track--I only relaid TWO stations, and having to rotate everything and get it right--total headache! :o So, I'll just go for a fresh rebuild.

Keep your eyes posted for a media-fire link within the next week. And remember, these are only the subway stations. BStyles is on hiatus for the rest of the season, and I will not disrespect him by releasing my own EL stations when he said he is committed to the project, so please don't ask. I will think about possibly making at-grade stations, if I get enough support for it.

Thanks again for sticking with me throughout this project. I know these stations have been in the works for a hell of a long time, and it feels good to have them finished.

P.S., for TrainzLover18: since a majority of the F line in Brooklyn is elevated, using Google Earth would be a helpful tool for station distances. Other than that, you'll have to estimate. I do have 99% of the station chaining distances of the entire subway on my computer, but because of the sources, I'm not allowed to distribute it just yet. Btw, I spoke to EL3T, and the Coney Island station is not in development, so you'll have to either make one on your own, or use built-in content I'm afraid. Who knows, it might turn out better with built-in content if you work hard at it.

Eye Candy

Thought I would tease a few eye-candy pictures of my NYCTA content, recently finished. Subway stations WILL be released in the future--the tunnels are based off designs from ExpressLine3Train and BStyles, respectively. The ones I made in-game will not be publicly released for two reasons: one, the designs aren't mine, and despite my friendships with the other two developers, I'm not going to disrespect them. Secondly, EL3T has made a LOT of tunnels, which are in BStyles' hands currently for fine tuning, so you'll get a hell of a lot more choices/configurations when his pack comes out. Mine were just thrown together because I wanted to get back into route building and was too impatient :hehe:

Enjoy the pics!

P.S: station objects such as maps, benches, garbage cans and exits/stairs will be released along with the subway stations. As you can tell, I haven't loaded them in game yet, which is why the platforms look bare. They were not included in the splines because of requests that it'd take away from the unique feel of each station by having them always evenly spaced apart. I didn't agree at first, but now I do!
