NYC subway Route

Could I have links to the CDPs? I'd like to beta test this route. That is, once you have an entire line done (i.e., the (1) line, the (E) line, the (S) Times Square Shuttle) from start to finish.

Also, are the stations passenger-enabled?

Well buddy that's not how it works people won't just give it to you once it's done even if u want to beta test it they have people for that which they picked out befor hand.

And no there not passenger-enabled atleast not yet they aren't.

Well, one can still be hopeful, right?

And gosh-darnit. Well, maybe soon, right?

Stations are not passenger enabled at the time. You'll be put on the list of possible beta testers, but the list and the wait are long as the route is very far from being finished.

I hate to say it, but not anytime soon. There's still a lot to be done.

Sorry if I sounded rude I just wanted to tell it like it is and you one can be hopeful.

You weren't rude. Sometimes people need to be told directly to the point. I might start an FAQ thread for the NYCTA Mega Pack to avoid constantly answering the same questions.

P.S. (F) line finished up to Ditmas Av last night. More pics in the next few days.

Gone

It seems that while transferring my .cdp of my NYCTA Route from my desktop to my laptop, the route file itself somehow got messed up, so the most updated file is lost, which includes my work on the Brighton, Culver and Sea Beach lines.

Thankfully, I had a .cdp of the route from October 3rd still filed away, so that one works. Brighton wasn't hard to do, but Culver was a challenge (especially the Church Av layups), but I'm thankful the route isn't lost.

UPDATED: The new CDP file also went bad, so I've lost everything folks. Looks like I'll have to start new again in TS2009 while I re-install 10. This is bull****

acelejalde, Do you still have the route on the desktop?

I don't, not anymore. I'm currently trying to look through old folders for a .cdp that worked. I don't know what happened to be honest. I was working on the route yesterday, saved the back up copies. Put the backups on a flash drive, loaded into my laptop. Then this evening when I went to open the route on the desktop for a friend, everything on the file was deleted in surveyor except for the textures and the rulers. Nothing was flagged in CM or anything. When I went to open the laptop's file, the same thing occurred. Then, I grabbed an older cdp file from a week ago of the same route (less progress as I save my cdps after every building session), and for the first opening of the file, everything showed up fine. However, when I went to re-open it a second time, the same problem showed up: nothing but the textures and rulers (and water/displacements). Any idea what could have happened? I have a lone file still on the flash drive if anyone has any idea on what to do. I had the route 60% completed, and I really don't want to start from scratch again.

Someone help?

I remember having this problem before with my route. Try searching for the name of your route (not your kuid - not your content, the actual name) in CM. You should see your route with your kuid - and your route with an unknown kuid. Look at both configs in CM (don't open in explorer) and both modification dates in CM. Trainz will open the unknown kuid, that might be the problem. If it is, I can tell you how to open it - but first see if this is happening. If there is no unknown kuid, then I don't know what can be done.

Lucky me

I did an Extended Database Repair, but the files were still faulty. Luckily, having two computers (a laptop and a tower), I sometimes leave old cdps sitting around that haven't been deleted when a new one has been made. I found a cdp file from 9/12 with my route on it, and it seems to load fine. The only thing that sucks is that my Flushing, Sea Beach, Culver and Brighton progress has been lost--but that can be fixed soon. Plus, with EL3T's new tunnels being tested by me, it looks like the route is going to be looking a lot better.

I will keep everyone informed!

P.S. I am working on the 42 St Shuttle Stations, and the SF Loops. I just finished the spline for the City Hall Loop---I am loving it.

Keep your fingers crossed guys---this route WILL get completed!

That's lucky yet also quite unfortunate :( I wish you luck with your route acelejalde. Also, have you tried, once in a while, exporting to cdp your file and putting it on an external hardrive? Being as I haven't had such an extensive route and that I don't know the exact problem, I'm not sure, but I hope that helps.
Eric :)

Some luck

My friend Angel (aking4125) had a CDP of the route I gave him from October 4--and it works! I recently re-installed and re-patched TS2010, so things should be good now. Again, no Brighton, Culver or Sea Beach, but rest assured I am making back ups of the back ups.

And until I get a knack for using EL3T's tunnels (and when I get the rest for beta testing, I'm sticking with MCQ for the moment. I tried some of them on a shell route I had awhile ago, and I'm still working out the kinks.

@Jeffmorris, I downloaded your TS12 NYCTA route, but I'm missing a lot of dependencies with your author ID. Here's the list:

Could you possibly publish a CDP with these assets? And if you have already, can you link me there? I don't have the patience to read through over 300 posts to find it if you already posted it.

I already uploaded the missing dependencies to the DLS a few days ago and because Auran/NV3 staff doesn't work on the weekends, you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Excuse my extreme lateness, I havent logged on in more than a year.

Here they are finally---my set of NYCTA Subway Stations! There are several CDP files to download, because pushing them all together was somewhere around 60 MB, and I know not everyone has blazing fast internet. So I broke them up into three separate ones. The 1-4 Track models work as splines with the ends built in. The 6T models work the same as Magicland's original stations, with end object pieces, and the spline for the station length. This was done because splines with more than 5 tracks couldn't be done prior to TS12.

Also, the bench, garbage can and exit stairs have been included as objects as well as the pillars and pillars with roofs. I've also included the CDPs for my new and improved signals (overheads included) that use BVE coronas I've gotten as part of the Signals pack for OpenBVE. As per the read me, credit for the coronas goes to TJay1724 over on the BVEStation forums. Without his work, my signals would not look as (pardon me) bad-ass as they do! :hehe:

The final .cdp file is the 3m Russian subway track that you must have for the subway stations splines.

Enjoy, and any feedback is welcome!

My next little project are open-cut stations for Brighton/Sea Beach/Dyre, and repeater/wall signals.

I think I'm missing items for the 1T, 2T, 3T and 4T stations, the 6T stations are working fine. Is there anything specific I need to get for those to work?

You need to download the Russian 3m Subway track--it's a dependency that you need in order for the stations to work. Are the stations showing up track-less or not showing up at all?

My cdps have been a little wonky lately---I have to re-upload my signals package too.

New CDP for Signals

Hey all,

I got some messages reporting problems with the NYCTA Signals and Overhead Signals cdps via my Mediafire links, so below is a new CDP file with all of the new signals in one spot. Please let me know if it's a success or if it's still not working.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Brighton Line

Brighton Line has been rebuilt and backed up several times over. It is now complete to Ocean Pkwy, with the only two stops left being West 8 St (modeled and imported, just not put on the layout yet), and Coney Island. Besides the 42 St shuttle and the late night 3 from 148 St to Times Square, I am happy to announce that the (B) in its full non-rush hour route is completed! Now, the passengers in my Trainz world can ride the full (B) from 145 St to Brighton Beach!

Below are some screenshots of Brighton Beach, Ocean Pkwy & Prospect Park. Because he is a good friend, and since I was late on getting this completed before he left us here in Phoenix, I decided to re-create two iconic Zach Summer photographs below, including his 2011 cover for Tracks of the NYC Subway.

P.S. When going to CI, right now the only thing I'll be laying is the trackwork. The next line(s) to be done are the (N) to 86 St and the (F) to Coney Island.

Stunning! Awesome! Great job! It is really looking like a stellar route so far!

You are doing what only one other person has attempted to do since the creation of Trainz Railroad Simulator. The NYC Subway System is the biggest subway system in the world, and when you finish that layout you would have it's computerized twin. It's one big project. I attempted to build that from scratch... gave up after a day. I would be happy to operate that layout, so much so that I'd buy Trainz 2010 just to drive it.
