Will the route use speedtrees or the old "billboard-style" trees? The reason I'm asking is that "billboard" trees look absolutely HORRIBLE in TS12, to say the least.

They will, atleast at the moment, as you can see in the pictures use Billboard style tree's. Short of Pofig's tree's, almost all 3D tree's look rather ridiculous, and Speedtree's are nothing short of a joke. Billboard tree's, after some tweaking can look very good in TRS2010 and TRS2012. I believe it is Rich's intention, and I hope he can correct me if I am mistaken, to stay with Billboard tree's. Also, please notice that Rich is building in TRS2009, where Billboard tree's do work fine, and look wonderful.

Huh, thinking about the RJ Cormans, we need someone to reskin the SP Tunnel Motor from TS12 into that scheme.

Rich, cannot use these however as they use the SpeedTree library which is only compatiable with TRS2010 and up. I myself find Billboard tree's offer nice, rich, dense forrests, whereas I cannot achieve that effect with 3D tree's easily without taking an FPS hit. Search "Olegkhim" on the DLS. You will find countless, High Resolution Billboard tree's that are infact made for TRS2010 and TRS2012.

I agree with Ryan for the moment, although I do think speedtreez will continue to get better, but billboards have had years to become as realistic as posible and that is why I use them at the moment, I'm sure there will be a time in the very near future when the two become reversed...
Could be likely that two versions come out.. Whatever happens happens. I will get TRS12 soon and have a play around to see what adjustments need to be made to get it into native mode, Not very good if I put in all this work, and the route looks c..p in the lastest versions. But ive got a great team behind the project and I hope that everything will get figured out. Should be wicked!
Yes, it will have prototypical Amtrak stations at Johnstown and Altoona,which is handy cos there at either ends of the route

Whatever happens, I have a fishlipsatwork DEM with track laid already (courtesy of cascaderailroad) that I will start on using Pofig's EK3ST 3D tree collection, I'll keep you guys posted.
The release date is still a while off as I've still got a hell of a lot to do, the track is all done now, but I've barely scratched the surface of the scenery...
Heres a shot of Johnstown station, can thoughs guys who know the route (kevin or cascade) tell me if its looking ok? I can't find many pics of the station on the net, also the Amtrak services only use track 2 right?
