NS Dogs?

NorthWest Ohio Trainz2010
I recently saw a NS worker in the normal Neon green vest at a switch near where i live. He was walking back from what i assume to be the switch to the engine, but was walking a dog. My question is this a Bomb sniffing dog because of the tightened security because of the recent events with US security; or is this a personal pet? The train was traveling between two small cities, the one it stopped in is only a city of 40,000, and has little problems with crime. Why would they have a dog?

Very possibly a training day for the dog, to get him used to RR tasks of sniffing.

Did he have OSHA steel tipped RR doggie boots on ?

Has anyone else any witnessed an increase of people railfaning, being questioned, detained, or ejected by police ?

In Altoona multiple cop cars come flying in, with lights flashing, when railfans are even near no trespassing areas.

As long as you stay on public property, have ID, don't act STUPID around railroads, and be respectful to any officers/employees, you are fine.

Well thats definitely something thats never happened to me in Altoona. Then again I'm usually not in the no trespassing areas.

Local cops dont seem to care, but if the NS police is in the area your bound to at least get a lookover.

Altoona itself theres only so many places that are good anyhow and most are easily in public access areas. Same goes for west of there. South Fork is a great area to catch traffic and no one has ever bothered me there. Not to mention its home to most of the fleet of NS's SD80MAC's.
