NS Columbia and Port Deposit Branch (CP&D)

let me show you the
The NS Columbia and Port Deposit Branch, better known as the Port Road, runs from Perryville Md. up about 60 miles to Enola Yard and Harrisburg Pa up the Susquehanna River . The line was originally owned by the PRR and given to NS after the split of Conrail. It was electrified by the PRR in 1938 and unelectrified by Conrail in 1987. The catenary supports and power lines are all that remains from the electrification. The branch is in use still in use and sees up to 6 trains per day.

Around Harrisburg Station (Sorry for the Surveyor shots)

Fantastic !

I would love to help you with this route, I have Enola yard all mapped out from Google Earth, with all the old trackage, including the yard tracks that were torn out, like the EB Hump Classification Yard was

I love this renewed interest in NS from all over the forums! I'm getting more and more inspiration to complete my WIP...

Glad to hear people like it. Wasn't sure if it would be interesting to anyone lol.

Sure thing. I need all the help I can Get with trackwork. Do you have signal placement diagrams to?

Nice work, what catenary are you using.:D

Some RDG cat poles that rrsignal sent me that I modified to fit PRR specs. Once the set is complete it will be on the DLS. With the set of about 70 parts, you will be able to create any catenary pole you can think of with Splines and objects that are kitbashed together. I might upload a few In a week or so once I create LODs for them.

Too bad there aren't any colored PRR PLs available.

What would be really interesting if I helped with Enola yard and gave it to you ... is Marysville/Rockville on your DEM ?

As for signal diagrams you pretty much have to go by individual interlocking diagrams ... I will try to find the longer mainline track schematics for you.

Looks real nice man, I railfan those area's ( Amtrak Station, Harrisburg ) all the time :) Keep up the amazing work!

At one point I had a PRR route of this area that I was working on, but after this last reinstall, it appears that most of my routes are either broken or entirely gone. If you need any help, in terms of information or track maps of the area, just let me know. I've laid Enola at least three times (the route was in the PRR era), and trust me, it's no picnic. Great job so far!
