NS 8105 interstate heritage unit

Gonna be honest and say that I don't really care for this one. I hadn't even heard of the Interstate Railway before NS's heritage program, and I feel that the paint scheme is a bit...bland.
I will give them credit for the hazard stripes on the pilot. Should've painted the plow as well, IMO...Oh well. I could've told you that I probably wouldn't like all of them.

Gotta agree with that. The other Heritage units really capture the 'look' of the original. Google the Interstate RS3s and that Gevo just plain misses the mark
I could weep! Never heard of Interstate? OK - it was never much more than a shortline in size, it maxed out at 10 diesels mostly (all?) RS3s, but it was an awesome little railroad. It was the subject of the very first DEM I created in Trainz and it is definitely 'on the list' for a future route. I actually did get a fair bit of it done, and lots of screenies in the 'old' forum before I discovered East Kentucky. The whole complete shebang is do-able in Trainz as a single release, and it wandered through the Appalachian mountains north and east of Appalachia Va through some of the prettiest country on Earth (if you discount the coal mines!).
Don't tell anyone, but here is a little known secret of Trainz: My little McCall Yard switching layout is actually built on the Interstate DEM! The main yard is at the site of the SOU / L&N Yard in Appalachia and the branch that runs North from McCall Yard from the wye (which is exactly where it should be) to the auto factory and beyond is the trackbed of - you guessed it - Interstate RR. The auto factory is pretty much on the site of Andover Yard, which was Interstate's home base. The industries beyond the auto plant are on one of the coal branches that radiated into the hills from there. The 'Southern Pacific' branch that runs north / south on McCall is the SOU / L&N line to Big Stone Gap...

It is important to remember that some of the schemes were designed around F & E-units, like the Pennsylvania and Southern Railway heritage units. Though I am not impressed particularly with this one, I realize the importance of the remembrance of the Interstate Railroad.I don't think as much of the Southern version, however the Central of Georgia version turned out pretty.
This was one I was looking forward to since I literally have former Interstate right of way in my backyard that was abandoned after the NW/SOU merger. Unfortunately, I have to say I'm not satisfied with it. That paint scheme just doesn't translate over very well on to the ES44, it just has too much white on the long hood.
