I am learning to use GIMP 2.8 (I Think) to reskin Locomotives and Rollingstock.
I have made a total reskin of Jointed Rails NS GP38-2 LH. To see the reskin look in the trainz gallery for T:ANE .
look for a Red Painted Diesel with White stripes & Letters on it. The Letters Should spell "UGA Football".
I took two, one with a caption and one with out a caption.
Let me know what to attempt to reskin to what you would like to see.
I have to use my Toshiba i have had since circa 2010.
I have yet to make a fleet of locomotives for routes i can create with a fleet of Engines and some Freight & Passenger Cars.
One such route i had made TWO posts on them. Check both of those posts on the blog.
Using GIMP, It might be possible to add Real life advertisements to outsides of certain railcars.
The only thing i would be happy to learn is to make my OWN Content and have it for download on a website.
IF You can help me out and help make some Content i could use i would greatly appreciate it.
All i need is a locomotive or few & some rollingstock that i CAN repaint but have a template setup on the Content for
The Job of the reskining which i can do my self or you can do it for me.
Any one know where i can find some Good Content for routes i want to create.
A few examples would be:
1. Tracks with 3 Dimensional (3-D) Ties.
2. Ground textures, I.E.: Track ballast, Grass, Mud, Dirt, Etc...
3. Railroad Stations/Depots as well as Industries.
4. Scenery items like Cars, Buildings, etc...
5. Locomotives & Rollingstock.
6. Splines like Eastern White Pines, Fences, Roads, etc...
7. Trackside items, Signs, Switch posts/Stands, and MISC items in Trackside like Fuel Houses, Bridges (goes undertracks for looks), etc...
8. Signals, Preffered is a Semaphore signal.
9. Boats/Ships and such.
and muchmore.
This would be helpful. I did at one point try to start a Group to help create routes, Content, etc... that built our own routes,
had our own Locomotive Liveries, and could be used with our own content and 3rd party/default content.
