When you upload a route or session, re: Sheffield - Leeds would you at least put the effort into it & update the darn
thing properly, it looks like I'm going to have to spend the next 2-3 days, just sorting out the skipload of errors that
these downloads have landed me with.

This is exactly the scenario that puts off newcomers to Trainz, at least I know what to do to sort this out .................

........ but what bloody chance has a newcomer got ? :(

I don't think it's his route to update - he's just uploaded a session for an existing (and quite old) route. Try it in compatibility mode (and yes a note in the description to that effect would have been nice).

It works perfect for me in TS2012 with no errors at all. As H222 say's, maybe Dan (as I have done) has fixed the faults on his system. Why not try the same before moaning. If you need help on fixing assetts, post which one's you have trouble with and what version you are running on (I see TS2010 in your sig). At the end of the day, If you have error's, it's not Dan's fault but the content maker's!

Maybe being nice would help you get a error free Trainz?

Best regards.

It works ok for me, as I am quite adept (after my years of using Trainz), at fixing most things, but it does take
the fun out of things if you have to spend so long getting things fixed before you can use them.
It was uploaded with a build of 3.3, but contained a majority of items with a build of 2.4 or earlier, it would have
been better had the content been amended to use the updated versions or (in the case of rolling stock) replaced
with more up to date content by alternative creators.

Yes you & I have the ability to sort this route out, but think of the newer users in this 'community', some of which
judging by posts on this forum, can't even figure out how to lay track.

Best regards returned.

Hi Blackwatch.

Point taken. I guess I will have the same problem if I ever upload any of my projects to the DLS. And then people will have the problem with stuff that I use that is not from the DLS but elsewhere! (too many good objects are not on the DLS :( ).

At the end of the day, it's just a shame that there's not a database full of links, that makes the great kuid search alot easier for the newbie's to find missing kuid's (I did find one on a Russian site, but it looked a bit dodgy copyright wise).

Still, the more people we can help in repairing the older kuid's, the better it get's that new blood comes along who then understands how to write config's correctly. Who know's, by starting to repair kuids they will then go to the next step and start making new asset's for us old'uns (and hopefully to the correct specification). :D

Best regards.
