been look over the dls and google for hours with no luck. dont suppose any of ya'll know where to find one, or a south african class 25 condenser tender?

if not, then it's another something to add to the list of 'build it and it will drive'.

Southern was one of the roads that had radio repeater cars, and also had rear end helpers, that could be cut off on the fly, without stopping the train ... one cool RR !

How does the prototype work, what exactly does it do ?

Are they always sandwiched between 2 locos ?

Put simply, it is a radio receiver that can be attached by MU to other locomotives so they can be operated at other parts of the train by the lead units. They are not always sandwiched between two locos, they can be at either end of a radio controlled locomotive consist.

I worked for Southern back when they used to run the 96 car unit coal trains. They had four engines on the head end and a radio car and three engines halfway back in the train.
