Noob needs help or kuid

Hi everyone,
ive just bought a computer off my friend and looking through his games on the pc was trains 2009.Now im hooked.
Been messing about doing things and coming here alot to read how to do things...Trouble is ,ive heard of a rule which is "send message" i havent got it on any rules or in driver commands..do i need to download a Kuid or something else?

You may have a problem there, unless you have been able to register a valid serial number onto your profile..

A valid serial number will be required in order to download any content, which you may not have.

You may have to buy and register a new copy of the Trainz version you are using.

Not sure about Send Message, but there is one on the Download Station called Post Message.

It may be worth looking through the driver command list in Surveyor (Edit Session > Driver Commands>Edit), as it may be in there.

You may need to ask whoever you got the computer from, as they are the one with the serial number. Also, be aware if they have already registered it, it is likely that you will have problems downloading or patching, as a serial number is not transferable between accounts (unless Auran/N3V say otherwise)

If you have problems with the serial number then you might like to consider getting a copy of TS2009 for £7.50 from Amazon (buy a new - unregistered version or you will have the same problem again). Link here:

The latest version of Trains is TS2010. If you should want to get this version then I would recommend you buy it direct from Auran via their website:

Some shops may and do offer it cheaper than buying direct from Auran (& the difference in price can be considerable), but that's your choice, or in other words if you decide to buy Trainz, shop around.

thanks for that help..i found out serials on the box and i have no box..but not a problem..as buying the game again would be worth it

means i need both for that price..lol

It is possible to install both TS2009 and TS2010 on the same system (quite a few on the forums do), but watch out when patching them as you may have to select the correct folder when patching (there will be a button with two dots on it (..) that you may have to click to select the correct folder)

PS: The TS2010 seems to be the same manual as for TS2009. If that is so, makes me think that TS2010, maybe just an update of TS2009.

Probably not - TS2009 SP4 and TS2010 are virtually the same (apart from the layers feature, and the Speedtrees)

Based on what I've read though, TS2009 is easier to understand than TS2010. (especially with the possible confusion on which layer to edit)

Note that ts 2010 from there is from just trains so you may struggle to get patches for it. I read some sort of disclaimer on their advert re support.
Auran provide support for 2010, just trains do not.

You don't need both, as Shane said they virtually the same apart from a few new features in TS2010.

Be careful if you are buying off the internet because, as fran1 said the may be patch and or support problems with some versions (e.g. Just Trains and Steam).

If in doubt, ask before you buy.
