No Tutorials in TRAINZ 2010 EE

I submitted a ticket, as I said earlier, and today I got a response. I have to log in to my account, go to my order history and re-download all 5 files.

Below is a copy of the email from Zec.

I am in the process of doing this now.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Hello Mark,

Could you tell us if it worked once you are done? Because if not I'm not going to bother downloading over 5 gigabytes again. I sure hope it works! I want to learn how to use the cabin controls properly!

Thanks in advance!

Re-Download and Reinstall Fixes This

I also opened a help ticket. I got a response very quickly (less than 3 hours) instructing me to re-download and reinstall, which I did. After resinstalling, the problem is fixed (and the build is now 43434). :D

excellent thanks for the information! I'm going to re-download asap as well

But isn't that an older build? Does that mean NOT to patch it?

If I install it again, will I lose all my DLC?

At least there is some light at the horizon.

Any assets that you created or downloaded are stored in your TS2010 local folder. Save or move to a temp location before a new install, then put it back when the reinstall is working.

Just click on the blue underlined link shown in Markoz's posting, then enter your own user name and password, or go to "Planet Auran" (use google), or click "Profile" from the top line of theses forums.

Same here. Mine is now build 43434. It works correctly.

The next question is.....Do I need to download and install the patch to get back to build 44088?

@Kurtf0a - This is the link to the order history that I was given:

I don't think it will log you into mine because you don't/shouldn't have my user name and password. ;)

I now did a re-download and re-install as well. Once you have downloaded and installed the game you will automatically get a message saying there is a patch available. Just follow the instructions and download and install the patch. Now you will have version 44088 and everything will work, including the tutorials.

Are there any other improvements over the new install? Differences except for the tutorials? If not, I'll stick with my install, cause my internet doesn't really allow downloading 5gig over and over again.

There are some bug fixes in the latest version. Among them is the saving bug fix. Some people had problems with 43434 taking a very long time to save. There are other fixes too in there as well, but I can't think of them offhand at the moment.

Saving in surveyor is epic sometimes -> 2-3 mins in a huge route, is that normal?

I meant is it worth downloading the whole game again, not just for the tutorials.

Most definitely. There are probably other issues too with the corrupt build that people haven't noticed yet. You want to have the latest build saved on disc just in case you need to install.

Saving a huge route can take a very long time - up to 4 minutes to save. My route is about 220-250 miles long with thousands of buildings, trees, and other objects. The route content file is a couple of hundred megabytes in size.

That's probably why my game crashes on some routes, some routes don't even show up and I encountered some more weird stuff where trains catapult back when going faster than 30mph.

I'll have to download it again then, will take me a day or so with my "high" speed internet.:hehe:

Cheers.

DITTO

mine was a purchased 2 dvd set, same issue here=no tutorials

guess it rests a while till issue is resolved
