No Train approaching… Red signal?

Hi everyone, thanks for looking …
Just a small detail question since my upgrade to TS22.
In previous, 2004, the signal would always display red when “no train approaching”

I notice, now, that signals are often displaying green when there is no train approaching.
Are there certain conditions or assets that cause this …and are there specific signal varieties that react as before?
(It feels like it might be down to my asset choice)

This is particularly relevant where there is a diverge junction with signal overhead just past the fork, the selected points direction would previously show green above while the opposite direction would show red. (I like that detail)
In the current form I seem to be seeing green on both directions!

Intermediate permissive signals, those typically with a number plate on the mast, clear automatically like this as they are usually not centrally controlled.
Signals that are absolute will say no train is approaching. This is to sortof mimic the real life effect of a centrally controlled signal. JR signals have a setting for this in the dialog.

Thank you for the replies… I will look into the JR signals for sure.
.. stagecoach, thanks for your tip. I very much admire your work!
For clarity, the particular location where this is bothersome to me is at the coal mine, where there are four loading lanes.
I like to see green over the selected lane and red on the other three. The overhead is actually quite a distance from the fork but still visible.
