No shadows when creating a layout?

Is there a way to eliminate shadows while constructing a new layout? I am using the old surveyor on TR22.

Not directly. It would be nice if there was a toggle to turn off shadows while editing because there are times when the shadows get in the way. My solution in the past has been to edit the environment and set the time to noon.

I guess it depends how easily satisfied you are.

Only zero latitude casts shadows from directly overhead, the minimum you can get with shadows enabled. Every degree north or south from the equator increases the casting angle by 1 degree. Maximum latitude is 75 degrees, because the Almighty Creator (Greg Lane) cut a huge cylindrical core out of the planet and took it with him when he left.

As stagecoach states above - best method is to temporarily turn shadows OFF in Trainz Settings, (Performance tab) by changing "Shadow Quality:" to the OFF setting and then restarting Trainz to accept the new graphics setting.
Once you've finished your editing in Surveyor, reinstate the desired Shadows settings to view the results after restarting once again.

Well, that's too easy!

The problem is restarting every time we switch between Surveyor and Driver and that can be annoying over the long term.

Being able to hide shadows on the fly would be ideal, thus the change in time while not ideal works for that.
