No Products Show When Assigning to Cars??

I continue to be unable to assign products to cars. Using ? I get the proper menu for products already available with the a boxcar. I use the + sign to see what additional products might be available but the Products window appears and is empty. I have either deleted or disabled all products & commodities that have any error condirion. Finally, just enabled orange juice and still no products appear in the list window. I have done an extended/extensive repair. Looking at the script error it just seems to say a null field was found. But without a listing there is little help there.:'(

As I've said to many people, you've either got a faulty product (although it may not show as faulty), or you're missing one or more product dependencies.

I see nothing showing faulty assets. I have only a small number Enabled. I have varied that as low as one and still nothing shows in the Product window.

Does the product filter recognize disabled items and ignore them?

If I have Products that are not appropriate for the car/wagon should they appear in the Product window when clicking on the plus sign of the car's Product window?

I fear I may have a more universal problem than just a lot of Products that look good but are not.

All the products from the DLS have been downloaded. Using Disable I have culled them down to only those appropriate for the Pennsylvania Railroad box car I am using. The car shows many suitable products in its "?" Properties menu but only an empty window when selecting additional products (+). Other cars have been used with similar results.

No - disabled items mean nothing to the product filter. The offending assets must be completely removed.

Ah ha!, some how I suspected that. I have two products labeled as Update Available. However they are marked as builtin and delete is not allowed. I'll try to butcher the Config to see if that works.

Which assets are those? I have a list of problematic products at http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...g-of-known-problematic-commodities-(TRS2006-) - if any of these are present, delete them.

Deleted all Products except those that would not delete, which are probably builtin. Same issue, no additional products appear for a boxcar. Clicking through those already assigned causes no problems.

The only Products I have in CM3.7 are builtin. There are three that show a small slashed orange circle in the lower right corner.This is in the Content Manager Status column. They are locked against edit. They may be the culprits. Is there any way to get at these things so I can delete them?

If that's the case, I would check if any of your industries/rolling stock has missing dependencies, and download any missing assets.

I think I have found three offending items. These items are totally locked. Searching with the "black pages" says the KUIDs are not on the database. They each show, in CM 3.7 with the tiny black PC and a small orange circle, with a slash across it, in the lower right corner. I will have to submit a trouble ticket and offer various gifts to the Gods.

are all builtin which is why they are locked and I imagine most people have these without them causing a problem.

In CM if you right click on the asset then edit is the option to revert to original available, if it is click on it and see if that corrects the problem. If it is not then it is back to Shane.
