No one to drive my trainz

Hi All,
Just reinstalled 2006 after a rest from it,but it dont want to run correctly.Can anyone tell me what is causing this to show up in the Content Manager Log?

? 00000744 Warn 0:00.4 Trainz : InterfaceTextDB> failed to load compiled interfacetext file
? 00000744 Warn 0:00.4 Trainz : InterfaceTextDB> Unable to read interface file 'interfacetext.chump'.

Its a fresh install,with SP1 and Trainz Routes 3 and 4 added.

Did you disable Firewall+any anti-virus before installing.

Hi Fran,
I disabled the AV but not the firewall,but I forgot to mention that SP1 came up 3 or 4 times during the install and said it could not find a file to replace but an older file was present but unchanged. I might try a fresh install and leave SP 1 out for the time being,and see if it will run correctly.

You need SP1, no good without it. Ideally you need to remove all files and folders then do a fresh install and add SP1 without opening trainz. Did you save your Trainz Local folder when you packed in last time?

Hi Aussierusti,
You may need to clean out the Registry before doing a fresh install, have found that when un-installing Trs2006 that a lot of entries still remain in the Registry. I have problems with CMP locking up and generally playing up. The problem returns when doing a fresh install and the only thing that works is removing all entries in the Registry and then doing a fresh install which solves the problem.
Registry editing should be approached with caution.
Back up Registry first using the Built in Regedit ( this is in Windows XP SP3 ), Ccleaner or Registry Booster. Then use theses programs to clean the Registry. You can use Regedit to do a manual clean by removing any reference to Auran, beware if you have other verions of Trainzs installed, this process will effect these installs as well. Back up all versions first.
