Nice one AURAN/N3V, hehehe....

I do not like the pale and insipid colors it was much better in the original color scheme plus the text is hard to read on this white background.
Come on Auran/NV3 is this the best you could come up with ??????
If you are going to redo the forums at least make a good job of it , bring back the old color scheme or at least improve the one we now have
Marks out of 10 = -10
EDIT
I have just noticed that there is now no link to the Download station so how do we get to it from the forum now??????

Well sorry peter but when it actually hurts your eyes to read, and can give you a headache after 10 minutes or so IT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

(Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the forum changes. This is just my personal opinion.)

The new forums are using pretty much the same colour scheme that nearly every other standard computer program uses these days. I won't get into whether it's visually nicer than the old layout, but I can say that if you're getting headaches from this colour scheme, then you should probably consult a doctor and get their advice on changing your computer settings (brightness, contrast, windows theme, resolution, etc.) to better suit your eyes. I know what it's like to get eyestrain from a particular working environment, and believe me when I say that it's better to do something about it.

kind regards,

chris

~snip~ The time line has disappeared – great for the egalitarians. ~snip~

but it will also slow down helping others since there is no quick reference to know what version they are at. Alright for those who add it to their signature or under their avatar but those most likely to ask will not usually have this configured either. ~snip~

The list was never entirely helpful, other than showing whether or not the poster was 'legally' registered.

Unless a member had only one registered version showing, it was impossible to know which version was being referenced with regard to request for help. With multiple “stations” it could not always be assumed that it was the most recent version on a member’s timeline that was being queried. Many have bought several versions, but use earlier ones.

I would agree for the need of some form of indicator that the poster has a legally registered version though.

BTW the screen is still far too bright. I've tried the sunglasses  icon. It doesn't help! :(

again this talk with legal/illegal. and i write again.

everyone, woman or man, boy or girl, capitalist or communist, african or american. everyone has to be treated the same, with or no serial number. (taken in mind most people are pirated)

not supporting someone because they don't have a number is a sin in my eyes.

back to the thread, it could be fun to have a station indicator, but it's not too important :)

To be honest, it makes it harder in my opinion to sort out issues relating to patching or being unable to save, without knowing what versions a user has, or even if they have any registered versions.

This wasn't on the old forums, but I'd really like to turn off that "friend request" gizmo. No one should be personally offended, but I don't do that facebook crap, and I dislike being placed in a situation where I have to deny friend requests because I can't just opt out of that system.

I like all you guys that come here regulary, but my friendships don't start with pushing a button. Trust me; I'm a miserable person anyway, and you don't really want to be my friend!:hehe:

AGREE - that social networking stuff seems really wired.

Hmm, I've no idea what you're on about, or what "friend request" gizmo you mean. I at least don't see it. :hehe:

I too don't do c.q. hate social networking, twitter, or anything else that's related.
I'd allmost say if there was a usernet newsgroup I would prefer that over a forum even. ;)

Again: Illegal.

Your opinion about legal/illegal or not is useless plus already known. But if you like more of the same reply again, sure, here we go:

Treat people the same if they are the same. People who did not pay for the software are NOT the same as people who DID pay for the software so they do NOT have to be treated the same.

not supporting someone because they don't have a number is a sin in my eyes.
 It is the not paying for the software that is the sin.
The support is mostly given by voluntiers. Voluntiers who payed a lower price for the game then they would if more users would get it illegally and the seller had to up the prices to not go bankrupt on creating it.

It's no need to start this again... useless in amerika, not useless here, doesn't matter. it's a fight for freedom. they are the same, people are people. i cant see why people support corporations still, they want ACTA, SOPA and PIPA, that is my thing to stop.

so far none has gone bankrupt, and that's a start, my final word, piracy is not a theft, end of the story. P.S my intention is not to start a legal/illegal war, my intetion is that people shouldn't blame people for missing serials.

Lets continue the offtopic illegal crap once more * sigh *

O god can you please o please stop being so absolutely stuppid, short minder and short visioned. What are you? 12?
Please do some research on the topic and notice that there are a lot more collors than black and white before even considering to spend more time on this topic, will ya?

Auran (aka the company that started creating this game originally) did almost go under (aka bankrupt). And that was not because they are a large coorporation thats so freaking bad as you like to say they are. The reason for that is, SURPRICE, not enough money.
Now you tell me how a company would get money if people dont pay for their software?

P.S my intention is not to start a legal/illegal war, my intetion is that people shouldn't blame people for missing serials.
If you dont have a serial, go ask the person who gave it to you. If they cant, because, I dunno, they got it illegally, you (surprice) got it illegally.
And why should we not blame people for that? And even if we dont blame them for it, we sure do not have to support them.

The fight is interesting, part of the discussion is good, but you are doing it in the wrong arena (and so is my replying most probably).

Hmm, the word 'piracy' in itself implies robbery, theft and mugging.
So the statement 'piracy is not a theft' is a 'contradictio in terminis'.
The mind boggles. :hehe:

Forum Search?

My main worry all along was the search function. How far back in time is the forum indexed by this new software? I have just tried finding a thread I started back around December 2011 but the so-called search could not find it. The keyword I used was "Sakai", an uncommon term and one that I would think a search engine would find easily. It found a couple of threads about Japan, but not my thread which was in Freeware Announcements. A good forum search is vital for this hobby, but it doesn't sound like this new search engine is any good.

I'm not stupid, if you want to see what im talking about, you should visit poorer countries around the world, and see how bad life is there. im 21, and i drive train in real life so i know a lot more about trains than most people here.

i know well about politics, and it's not all about piracy. if sopa and acta is what you are referring to, google it, see your answer.

i did not call auran for a big corporation, i dont have against auran, but some short minded capitalist users here not accepting another systems... (only thing against, is how some users are treated differently)

i got my copy from a employee from Kazan Metro, and i dont think it is pirated, but some "special" version. i will find out later.

if you were me, getting around 200 USD in your currency, having to take care of booth your mother father with the salary, working around 14 hours a day with rude employees, seeing how terribly unhappy people are. if you saw that, you would take back the "attacks" on us. and keep in mind that most dont even have internet. how much are you getting? 3000 USD a month? you are rich, you can afford to do these things. I have been in the netherlands at a friends home, it's very developed, and actually beautiful with the rivers, boats and so on. but at the same time, very stable economy.

Yes, it's wrong topic, i have no idea why people start to argue only because of piracy

Deane,

You could try finding it via clicking on your user name >View profile >Find latest started threads

All of mine seem to be appearing OK.

However, there seems to be around 20 months worth of posts missing from July 2010 when you click on >View profile>Find latest posts. I've raised that one in another thread.
