Newbie....steam help

Greetings!

I'm new to Trainz, and I'm learning well with driving trains especially diesel. However, I've read the manual, and understand the material. Here's my question.

What do I need to do to prevent the safety valve going off constantly? When I'm driving the Y6, the boiler pressure climbs, and climbs. Never goes back down and I get the non-stop hiss. Obviously I am doing something wrong. I just don't know what. Water levels are being maintained at approx. 66%, fire being left alone since I don't want heat to make steam since I'm making plenty of it.

Thanks!

Okay. I think I've figured out what I need to do to get it to stop. When the session starts, it starts with coal in firebox at 100%. Even with water levels at 100% it didn't solve the safety valve continuously blasting away. It seems you have to get the coal level back down to 20%. Maybe less.

Is there a way to modify this so session doesn't start so hot? If not, what are the alternatives instead of driving with the sound turned off?

The starting coal mass, in kilograms, is defined by tag values in the locos enginespec. Starting coal is defined by the tag Starting-Coal, if it is present. If the tag is not present, edit the enginespec config.txt file to add it. The default value is 500 so start with a value lower than this and retest.
