This is the re-birth of steam ( I hope ). Just goes to show what can be done when you start from scratch using the original drawings. The inside of the cab with all that copper must be Paradise to work in. Can't wait till it starts running up this way. Lets hope this is the start of things to come, considering what it cost against the cost of new loco's today. Maybe then the price of a ticket would be justified for a ride of Majesty.
That is such a beautiful locomotive. There is something about the clean lines of British steam locos. One of the captions says it will be painted apple green. I think she is stunning in battleship grey and black. Good work.
The BBC4 Channel has been runing a train series for the last wek or twoand included a brilliant one on the building of the steam loco. It also had a long ago interview with that hatchet man of Britain's railways, Dr Beeching whom I always thought was over the top. I accepted lines had to go but the proportion was ridiculous and some we could be doing with now. Here in Scotland we have had several lines re-opened. There was also another prog on that channel about railway walks where a woman was walking along defucnt routes and learning about their history as she went along.
Must thank BBC4 for me being allowed to wallow in sher nostalgia!

Wow. This is really good news. The Flying Scotsman has a friend!
Now they need to build some more! And about the carbon emissions: 90x a small car? Some may think that's bad, but do remember these can pull over 100x what a small car can do. It's worth it!
