New Weddin makeover [Weddin by footplatephil]

Over the years the one scenario that my father and now nephew are always playing is the WEDDIN created by footplatephil and modified by me. I'm hoping I won't get too much flak for it, since the scenario is more fun than accurate. Anyway, I will leave this post here and upload some before/after shots later.

Hope you like it.

Sorry, having trouble with adding pictures. Seems there's no provision to add a picture from your hard drive, only a website, and I'm not allowed to attach anything it seems also.

Will have to upload them on a photo sharing site and provide links.

Not happy Jan.

A few descriptions

1: Original Weddin with Harden Portal. The grey area is now where Weddin is located. It is a 'Main Base', as a lot of locos and rolling stock are stored here to serve the industries throughout the Route.

2: Weddin Container Depot, which is to the East of the main entrance. 3x82's, 2x81's, and a 442 are in the siding.

3: These are the main sidings for rolling stock to tend all of the industries throughout the area. From the left, Diesel[1x44], Woodchips[1x81, 1x82], General Goods[2x422], Crude Oil[2x90], Lumber[2x442], and Coal[3x422].

4: Weddin Power Station and Weddin platform. The line continues ahead to North Weddin Station which is the end of the line here. The Power Station just got a new access point which you can't see in the picture that allows it to be serviced by the Coal Mine at Glenlogan, as well as the mine at Koorawatha.

5: This is North Weddin Station. The four platforms from left to right are: An experimental branchline, not connected to any of the other lines[yet], Airport Express Up and Down, which also don't connect to the other lines, but intentionally, and the starting and terminus for standard services to and from Cowra. The Branchline is served by a two-car Endeavour Set, while the Airport Up and Down has 4+2 cars. A two car 900 Class serves as an express going from North Weddin to Koorawatha, then onto Cowra where it terminates. A 400 class with two carriages is the all-stops. In front there is a Spare 3 car Xplorer set, as well as a spare General Goods with two 422's on the front. A turntable and the 'original' Weddin North Portal are in the picture below. From Weddin Station, North Weddin is actually North East, while the turntable and Portal are more North.

6: This is the Weddin Refinery. It is West of Weddin Station. The Crude Oil tanks are above, while the Refinery is below. The tunnel in the bottom picture is part of a more direct path to the mine at Koorawatha.

7: Heading away from Weddin and just past the first bridge is the Weddin Loop Line. An 81 class with Cement Wagons is waiting for the two Passenger trains to pass so it can proceed to Weddin North.

I'll post more later if I get a chance.

Your killing me - you seem to have put a coal mine in my parents back yard.

Not sure how I am going to explane that one - that and where did all the trees come from that is not many trees in out area ?

@ NSWGR_46Class - If you show me where your parents house is supposed to be and let me know what house in TRS2006 looks like it, I can put it in.

And the trees were put in as a re-plantation effort from the guilt trip they were on about digging a big hole in the ground to strip mine the place.

More Descriptions:

8: After Bendick Murrell but before the climb where the grey area is, that's the entrance to Wongalillee Factory. A line also goes there from a section on the other side after exiting the tunnel.

9: This is Crowther Platform. At the back is a Lumber mill and trees. The mill has a line that wraps around and goes back the way it came as well as up the line too.

10: This is the curve from Koorawatha that goes to Grenfell, which I've turned into a triangle, respectively.

11: The line leads to the Portal in the background, called Kooradale Yards. The Portal is temporary, as i intend to extend the line long that way, but still keep the Portal off to one side as a Terminus. The area you see at the top left is the Koorawatha Coal Mine. Actually, the bridge you can see is a new addition. It goes from my new line, which goes to the mine quicker and off the main line, to the original divert off the main line for the entrance to the mine. The main reason I put the bridge in was so you could go straight there instead of having to go all around through the mine in order to get there.

12: Another view of Koorawatha Mine, and the original entrance I put in way back. The line goes left then curves around to enter the mine.

13: This is the end of the tunnel from the 9th picture [Viewing the refinery]. The divert to the left goes to and from Wongalillee Factory. Ahead is a bridge which leads to a small yard, then a few bridges later, the triple bridges. The bridge on the left goes directly to the junction to go onto the main line. The middle bridge is for coming back from the mine, and the bridge on the right goes into the mine. This line goes up and over, then curves around to enter the mine. The Portal is Kooradale Yards.
14: After Koorawatha where the line curves to the left, is a small siding for the Passenger service. Originally, the Down service would wait here for the Up to pass, then proceed on to Koorawatha Platform.

15: This is just before Cowra Bridge, as you can see it at the top. This conversion came about from my nephew playing around with the route and ended up deleting everything and making the terrain uneven. So I tried to fix it up and make it look good.

16: This shed after Cowra Station has turned into Cowra Depot. It 'eats' Containers and Cattle, and produces Hay and Feed.

17: The bridge was converted when I did the road to attach to it. The Portal directly ahead is labelled Blayney, and is just like the Kooradale Yards Portal, being a temporary Terminus until the route is extended further. To the left is a loop, which i extended recently to accommodate longer trains. To the right is the loop for Cowra Forestry.

18: This is the bridge when leaving Cowra along the Eugowra Line. I replaced it to make it 'active', so the cars will go over it.

19: Further along, there is another bridge replaced for the same reason.

20: This is Glenlogan Station, and the new entrance to Glenlogan Mine.

21: Glenlogan Mine before and after, and the descent into the mine coming from the Eugowra side. I thought this section looked pretty good, especially the overhead bridge, the curve around, and the Repeater. The entrance from the other side can been seen at the top.

22: This is where the line originally ended. I've extended it with a bridge and added a kind of reservoir or river in this area. I thought it looked good. The bridge leads to a staging area, and out to Eugowra Airport, where it loops around and comes back.

23: This is a Portal near the staging area to terminate services. The lines above go o a wharf platform and a Diesel loading area, for the nearby Glenlogan Mine. I think there's also a turntable there as well. The tunnel leads to Eugowra Airport. The train you can see in the picture has S-Sets headed for Sims Metal.

24: This is Eugowra Airport Express Station. It goes from here to Greenethorpe, then onto North weddin where it terminates. It is served by XPT Up and Down services in a 4+2 'push-pull' configuration. The next is the bridge up just a little bit along from the airport station. I had to put this in, as the areas aren't at the same height, so I thought I might as well make it look good. From the station there is a separate line for goods, which comes onto the express line to go up the bridge, then diverts to the right onto a separate line all the way to North Weddin. The picture at the bottom is a bit back from North Weddin. The Up & Down Express lines are on the left, and the goods into Weddin is on the right. The overhead bridge is new, and goes to Weddin Power Station. The divert is back from the picture and branches off the goods line.

25: These are the two new platforms called Greenethorpe Express 1 & 2 for the Up and Down, respectively. In the lower picture, you can see Greenethorpe Station on the Grenfell line below.

26: This is Warrangong Station on the Grenfell line. There's now a pulp mill at the back.

27: This is Quandong Cattle Shed. Look for the T-intersection in the road as a reference as to where it is in the original Weddin.

28: Spot the odd one out. These trains are sitting at Cowra. From the left: NSWGR 442 Class Tuscan, NSWGR 44 Class, and a RENFE 333 VA v1980. The 333 is here because after going through all the Locos in the game, it was the one that most resembled Independent Rail's DSB MZ class. I see it often in the morning coming from Yennora while waiting at Granville. I couldn't find it on the DLS though, unfortunately.

Just did a google search on my route WeddinNSW, and FootplatePhil, and found this post. Interesting that this post should come up as first in the search results (why not one of my posts?). Anyway, while I appreciate the enthusiasm for my route, I am not sure about the shots in this post. So just for the google search record, can I say please search out my original (me being the route creator) screenshots of this route (particularly screen shots from V3.0 for TANE SP2).
