Hey all,

Im new to TRS2006 which Ive had for a while now but Im just getting into it.

My question is:

is there a list of some kind anywhere that tells you what industries do what and what rolling stock you use for that industry. Im finding it very confusing when trying to make my own layout because there is lots to choose from and I dont even know where to start.

thanks in advance.

Corey

Welcome to Trainz, Corey.

As far as I know there's no list that I am aware of. I'm sure the others on the forum can help you with this.

There is however the basic industries which can be matched up with a generic factory building. You could then assign the type of cars that would be appropriate. I could see using a modern warehouse along with some silos, place an Industry Basic, configure the asset to accept plastic pellets to it, and then use the capable covered hoppers to unload at this facilty.

Hope this gives you an idea on what to look for or do.

John

Corey,

For the built-in industries and products, there's a very useful flowchart in the manual - C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2006\Docs\manuals\TRS2006_Manual.pdf - Section 12.11.3, "Interactive Industries"

Unfortunately there are thee mistakes in the flowchart:
There should be an arrow from General Goods to Airport.
There should not be an arrow from 20/40ft Containers to Airport.
There should not be an arrow from Crude Oil to Airport.

Only built-in wagons marked with the "IND" icon in their thumbnail image can carry products and work with the industries.

In some cases you need to stop at an industry to load or unload. In other cases you need to keep moving but slowly. Most industries have separate sections of track for each of their inputs and outputs.

Hope this helps, John

Hi, and wecome to trainz!

To add to what others have been saying, if you choose the trains tab in surveyor (at the bottom of the list of tabs on the right), on the place single item page there is a question mark in the lower-right corner. Click on that and then click on a car, and it should tell you what it will accept and in what quantity. The same can be done for industries on the buildings tab.

Hope This Helps (HTH),

Say you want a Wheat industry, you put "Wheat" into the DLS and it "should" (lol) come up with a list of Wheat industries and rolling stock to carry Wheat. It takes practice....And of course if you install Multiple Industry New or Basic in Surveyor then click on it to Add A Product it will give you a list of the Builin products for Trainz.
