That will be one slick looking machine! Both appearence and running.
I really like the sound of that Aluminum Clearcoat Chassis too. :D

Cheers,
Adam

thx titanic, best news is i can choose what color the aluminum glosscoat comes as (leaning towards red right now).

you should get different anti virus

eset smart security
or
kaspersky
or
nis 2009 (it is improved from what i have heard)

along with spybot and ad aware :)

McAfee is a lot less resource heavy then Norton's, but then they all are resource heavy these days.

The only thing that I would question about that system is the graphics, the 9800GT is a good card, but I don't think it will match that CPU too well. For a little extra if the budget will let you, think about going a 9800GTX+, faster then the 9800GT and only around $100 - $150 (AU) more.

Once the budget recovers from the cost, start saving for a GTX 260 or GTX 280.

Other then that, should be a good performing system.

I'm kinda stuck with that card. I spent 2 hours convincing my mom to spend $100 extra to upgrade to that. so i'll upgrade later. probably about the same time i get 2 more GB of ram.

Very close to my new rig but I got E8500, 4GB ram, 9800GT+, and Vist 64 home premium. I also built it myself, came to $1200US.

ok so i was looking aorund and decided, i could probably make my own computer with parts. what would i expect with these from newegg?

questions
1. will these parts work together?
2. would i need anymore parts to make it work?
3. should i just go with a pre-built?

nvm, i don't think i'm quite ready to put together my own computer.

how does that sound? Its cheaper then both the ones before $950.

Sound OK but what size is your mounter? If its under 22" and LCD should be OK, if over 22" you will need a bigger video card.
