I'll be sure to buy that when I have some money saved up again after renewing my CC membership... That NS C39-8 looks awesome! It's one of the only ex-CR locomotives I've seen IRL. The unit I've ever seen in actual CR paint is EIRR #2242 which is ex PRR.

Does the NS c39-8 have ditch lights on the front?

I purchased the NS C39-8, when I tried to install it I got the "Unable to open the CDP file for reading" error. Thinking my computer may have developed a CDP reading problem, I downloaded the custom cab and a couple freeware things that installed fine. So I re-downloaded the 39-8 file again several times, getting the same problem as before each time I tried to install. Any help is appreciated. I'm using Trainz 12, SP1HF4.

But this one is not ex-CR as it is part of a SOU/NS order. It even has long hood forward situated cab controls.

You are looking at the front, and no, this version is as they arrived on the system. If you want to wait I'll have ditchlights on both ends in a future release.

Nope! If I'm correct (which I may not be) the engineers would simply spin their chairs around for short hood forward running when they did.
