New patch causing video draw iissues

After patching to 110491 the route I have been working on for over a year now has a major problem. When you start a session trains run with no visible rails or scenery for the first 5 to 10 minutes. It take that long to draw scenery items. Never had this issue before patch. I thinking maybe something with video settings. I tried lowering the redraw distance but made no difference. I'm running a GeForce 1070ti card and 32 megs of computer memory. Any ideas?

Thanks

Chuck

Hi gt350,, Try going back to your Nvidia card setting and press restore on that page, without touching anymore settings start TRS19 and see if the same problems remain also turn down all settings in Trainz Settings performance tab on startup and make sure they are also turned down in the game settings,,
If that fixed the problem then start playing with the Nvidia setting and go from there to tweek the game,,
Now if that does not fixed it , then your own and it's got me stuffed,,
Cheers Steve123

I have the same problem and have a Bug Report in progress, I have tried reducing all the settings to minimum, made no difference.
I will try to reset the NVidia settings and observe what that result is.
Reset the Nvidia card and bingo, we have a winner

Hi all,
i have a similar performance problem. Can switch nearly everything on the graphic settings but get allways on TRS19 routes a lot of stutters and heavy perfomance problems.
I observed, TRS19 use arround 4GB of VRAM out of 8GB available. Additionaly, my GTX 1070 ti is only on average 60%, CPU runs at 40-50% and system memory of 32 GB is rarely used above 10GB as well.
When the FPS drops well below 60 on yards like on NS Sandusky Route, Niddertalbahn, or similar the GPU is ideling on arround 50% usage. Outside bigger sceneries it turns up to 120 FPS while the GPU is running at 100%.

Chuck (OP) What you encounter is not a graphics card problem, its the way trainz loads its items
trainz loads content in a strange sequence

Logic would be:
1-the drivers(characters/pics of their heads)
2-all track and trackside
3-ground textures
4-industries closeby
5-industries far away
6-scenery items close by
7-scenery far away
8-speedtrees, turfx etc.

On a very big route/session it takes long before everything is loaded

What can you do?
-do not install or use bloat/show-off items
example: a cab using 500mb+ textures where 5mb would suffice
-be critical/limit what you use in your routes
example: trees use only a few types, same for ground textures
-careful with items from Sketchup, these are often very inefficient
-every train in your session add a wait 2min before the scedule
-Put your local folder on the fastest drive you have, preferable a M2.SSD
(is a SDD in a slot on your motherboard)
-its all about the textures(size) not the polies these days
-remember everything has to be loaded at some time, less is better

btw no changes in loading here since SP2 (i do what i wrote above)
greetings Gm

Steve123 The restore helped a lot about 75 per cent. Lowered all the video setting except keep desktop resolution and performance did not change.

Thanks
Chuck

G.M. agree with everything you said but never had an issue until this patch. Everything is on a ssd card. Just a note on the ssd card if you have one. Make sure that it is connected to 3.0 sata port.

Clutter & TurfFX have a very big impact on your GPU & CPU so also turn that off and see what happens, Plus it's always good to do a driver update from time to time ,
As it has been said for some reason this new update form TRS19 has some how reacted with the drivers on 900 to the Ti 1080 video cards,, It could be the video card memory on these cards,, or it could be a bug between the game and these cards,,
Regards steve123

Agree Steve123 Just updated drivers and turned off clutter and turfFX no change. Maybe the next patch will repair this.

I noticed the same when first loading routes, but then everything settles down afterwards and things are fine.

I also have the same issues, but things never settle down. I have sent to Zec a few Pics of the Performance settings, and side by side comparisons of the Ground Beauty Textures flickering in and out at close Distances. The Help Desk as been very helpful to me and they are looking into it.

This issue happened after the Sp2 Update to my Steam Client Version, and this issue is also present in the Trainz 2019 Platinum Version as well.
