Run the Trainzdiag.exe program in the bin folder of your trainz install and make sure the OpenGL section passes with a green tick. If it doesn't you will probably need to update your graphics card's driver to fix it.

Patience is a virtue

I have Vista. When I first installed TRS2006 it took a day or two for the FCT and CMP to work. Temporarily disabling your antivirus for the installation may help. Also you have to have you Username and Password entered identically in the 4 options places, total, in TC and TRS. You have to join Auran Community with a profile. Once registration takes effect you should be totally up and running in a couple days. Unless it's a PC related problem ? These guys here will help you alot. They know more than I do and will help point you in the right dirrection.

Joe De Bo...

 Joe, there is an edit button to change your post to lower case....

You can use caps for proper nouns, however all caps make us scared!

We like correct spelling & grammar also...

Stop wasting time reinstalling the program...your not letting it update itself this way.

Content Manager just needs time alone to get acquainted, then you can use it. It may do this every day, but in the beginning it takes longer.

Content Manager logs into Auran & updates itself & when finished is a very usable utility...just before you would shut off your computer, open the Trainz Launcher & select Manage Content.

Come back to it in the morning & shut it down, wait a minute the reload it...it should be ready.

You can stop the "Updating Trainz Asset Database" using the Esc key.

Keep working with Content Manager & read the directions occasionally to remind you of what the program does.

By the way JoeDeBo, welcome to the Auran Forums!

I'd like to know why I can see an Edit button in his post. Can't see it in his other post or anyone else's but mine yet the first post here has a non-functioning Edit button with the swirly dots moving next to it right under the crying face.

Hi all, apologies for a lame newbie question. Once I have selected an "asset" for downloading and it has completed, is there anything else I have to do to get it into the list(?) so I can use it in surveyor?

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Make sure it got commited. Test this by clicking the Open for Edit tab to see if anything is there. If there is right click on a kuid and pick Select All to highlight everything there. Then press Ctrl M to commit.
Second thing is to make sure the kuid doesn't have any errors or dependency problems.

Thanks for that. If theres is nothing in the open for edit tab, then does that mean it has been Committed automatically?

Cheers and thanks again,

Yes. You can check your settings in CM2 by clicking on File - Settings - Miscellaneous and see what option is checked in the 'When launching Trainz:' section in the lower right.
