As the days go on more and more of Amtrak's new equipment gets finished up. Here is a listing of what we know so far on their new stuff's progress.

New Cascades (Oregon Talgos): The trainsets have passed FRA testing in Pueblo & are now on their way to Seattle for localized testing. You can see them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/oregondot/sets/72157629281025352/

ACS-64: Siemens has been pretty quiet lately about the ACS-64. However there have been a few pictures leaked so we know that atleast one unit is looking pretty close to finished. It'll then be shipped off to Pueble for the FRA testing.

Viewliner II: CAF has been even quieter then Siemens about the new Viewliners. The most we've seen of them was in a news article more then a year ago. One new picture has surfaced of what appears to be a Dining Car or a Baggage Dorm.

The single existing Viewliner I dining car has been making it's rounds with the newly rebuilt interior, which mimics what the new Viewliner II interiors should be. Last August I had dinner in said car & it looks very nice.

New BiLevels: It's still a bit early to expect to hear anything from Nippon Sharyo about the new Corridor BiLevels, NS-USA did update their artist's rendering of the new cars not to long back to have more detail in them:

That finishes up the Amtrak Equipment roundup.

Cool, the first one looks to me like a hideous pile of junk, but the other 3 look good. Still think M6's,M7's and Acela's are the best looking American trains.

The Talgos are beyond ugly. Not sure what's going on with that there. They've always reminded me of that Soviet armored train in Goldeneye. I'm not a fan of the ACS either. I generally like the modern German electrics, but it just seems out of place in North America. The rolling stock looks great though. I'm most excited about those since that's where I, and other passengers, will be :hehe:
