Evolution of the Supertanker
Evergreen International operate a small fleet of aircraft including a few aging Boeing 747-200s.
Boeing 747-200 Evergreen International N481EV

In 2003 Evergreen converted one of their 747-200 aircraft (N470EV) into a prototype firefighting tanker.
The conversion meant it was now a 747-100SF.
It made its maiden flight on Feb 19 2004 & was able to drop 77.6 kl of water in a single run.

In October 2006 the aircraft was granted an FAA certificate to allow it to enter service as a fully fledged firefighting aircraft identified with 947 on its tail. It got itself a shiny new paint job as well. The Supertanker was born and is still the largest firefighting aircraft in the world by a long way. When a fire really gets out of control anywhere in the world, this beast is called in to help.

A change in the aerial firefighting regulations in the US meant that the Supertanker would have to be able to carry the more dense red retardant. Eventually the Supertanker was dropping that as well.
Their current operating aircraft is registered N479EV, tail number 979.

The 4 aircraft including the Evergreen 747-200 passenger jet & the 3 tanker variants are now available on DLS.
Thanks to Gordon (nzld) for the inspiration & Ian (Vulcan) for adding the water drop to one of his Boeing 747 models.

There is still some work to do on the markings, and I have to take out the missiles.

RCAF CC-144
I agree Pascal, this forum thread has gone a bit quiet recently.
I've been working on reskins for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) since I finished the Supertankers.
The first one is a CC-144 which based on a Challenger 600. They use it to fly high ranking politicians around more than anything else.
I've also started the CC-130 Hercules & CP-140 Aurora (based on P-3C Orion).
Still to be started are the CFA-18 Hornet, a surveylance variant of the Dash 8-100, a Twin Otter & a Bell Jetranger.

You should get soon the 7 planes and their specific fuel tanks. Don't forget to take them away for the air show.

Speaking of air shows....
There was some excitement in Perth Australia over the weekend with the RAAF putting on an air show at Pearce Air Base.
There were real aircraft with real noise, real jet wash & real speed. It's a shame these airshows are only put on once every 6 or 7 years around these parts.
There were all sorts of aircraft on display with the Hornets & Super Hornets the centre piece. (Yes they're my photos, not some pinched off the net).
The RAAF have a number of relatively new toys other than the brand new Super Hornets. It was the first time I’d seen any of them in the flesh.

The Airbus A330 variant the MRTT (Multi Role Tanker Transport)
And the RAAF’s new cargo jet, the mighty C-17 Globemaster. Two of Australia's five were on display.
An old B-52 dropped by. They flew from Guam, did a quick live firing exercise near Darwin, continued down to Perth only to do 2 laps of the air show before returning to Guam. In all a 16 hr round trip.
It was a great show!

I'm not too sure what Jamie & logybear are on about. I suspect they've tagged onto the wrong forum thread or something....
Anyhow...
The Royal Canadian Air Force CP-140 Aurora is cleared for take off & ready to patrol the vast Canadian coastline.
Currently in the approval process in DLS.
