Air Canada - Tango
I was boarding a Jazz flight to Vancouver Island this morning to go whale watching out of Campbell River (I wish!) & noticed a couple of strange purple tails with maple leaf logos.
As it turns out they were a couple of jets operated by Air Canada's low cost, no frills carrier, Tango.
There was an A320 & a Boeing 737 parked at the regional/domestic terminal at Vancouver Airport. The Tango brand is the Air Canada equivalent to Jetstar for Qantas or Tiger for Singapore Airlines.
Sorry guys. I like to make my upload notifications to DLS interesting so I tend to tell a bit of a story. You've probably noticed...
So down to business. The A320 is pretty straight forward but the 737 is meant to be a 737-200 which are being phased out for most airlines. I'm not even sure whether Tango is still operationg the 737-200 anymore. They only had 4 to start with. The 737-200 has been around since the late 1960's & was superseded by the 737-400 series. Vulcan doesn't have a 737-200 in his increasing large list of aircraft so I've based it on the more current 737-400 series. They are fairly close to being the same size & capacity.
These two are available on DLS.

I'm trying to sytematically add aircraft to the family starting with Air Canada & Alaska Airlines. I'd like to fill the gaps for the other major North American carriers. I'm currently working on re-painting the United/Continental aircraft because the two companies merged in November 2011 & consequently have new paint schemes. They have the Continental markings but the United brand name. I've already done a <clone &> logo change on Vulcan's Continental 737-824 and an equivalent re-badge on the Dash-8-400. I still have to re-skin the B767, B737-400, B747-400 & A320 pretty much from scratch. There are no B777, B757, Embraer E190, or Bombardier CRJ models to work with at this point but I will probably do a Gulfstream mimic for the CRJ-200 as well.
Stay Tuned.
